Zippo customer service?

I'm looking for feedback regarding Zippo's CS.

Communication?Turnaround time-Fast/Slow?Shipping charges?Maintenance Charges?

I have a few lighters I want to send in for a simple clean-up,buff,wick replacement,etc.

I know I can go on their site & read their warranty,but I figured I'd ask if anyone has had any first hand experience with them.

Zippo is great with customer service. They have a great 'rep' with the cigar & pipe world for fast and gracious service.

I've sent one in with a mangled hinge and they simply replaced the entire lighter, I also sent in one regular insert to have it swapped for free to a new pipe-lighter insert. No charge to me except the one-way shipping to Zippo.

I don't know if they will fluff & buff your lighters, as they may simply replace them. You may need to do your own wick replacement though.
 
Ive had several rebuilt.They are great! Replaced the full panels on a couple of scrimshaw editions.Even sent extra wicks and flints as i recall.You wont have any problem.I dont recall the turnaround time,but i know it wasnt unreasonable.I will edit this to say its been at least 10 years since ive sent any in,but i would still recommend the FREE service.
 
Had a lot of success with Zippo's customer service. Most of mine was replacing broken hinges, good turn around (about a week). you will not get your inserts back though they have always sent mine back with brand new inserts, last time I sent one in was last year so YMMV.

I just got my lighters back from Zippo & I couldn't be happier with their service.Not only did they replace the inserts for my two lighters,but they also gave me two additional inserts(1 extra for each lighter).

Service took less than a month & cost me nothing except for shipping to them one way.

zippos always done right with me, been collecting them since the early 90's, although i get my old inserts back and new inserts in the lighters, dunno bout everybody else:confused:
