Two knives. The name I've given the style is Zog Nit. I did the name for a friend of mine, a 91 year old polish immigrant who survived Dachau. If you want to google it, the full name fo the song is "Zog Nit Keynmol"

The sgian dubh I do is my ideal size for a backup SD blade, and is very handy as a general knife. These blades are considerably smaller and are what I consider the "bare minimum" in size for a backup blade.

I maxed out the length about where the Guardian knife is at - 7 inches. I tried to design a usable cutting geometry while maintaining high strength and a good thickness.

1/8 inch 1080 steel, differentially tempered, with a full convex zero grind, a matching grind on the reverse edge. The tip is stout, strong, but really penetrates well. I've left a lightly fileworked thumb rest on the spine of the blade, making it a 2/3 double edge knife.

The handle on many knives in this size are scaled down full sized handles. I went with making a purpose designed short handle. It's fairly beefy for the size of knife, while maintaining a low profile. The butt is well rounded and will suck into the hollow of your hand very well.

First one:

Blade length: 3 inches
Overall length: 7 inches
Handle is black walnut with brass pins
#318

Sheath is koyote girl made, hand stitched. Removable belt hanger, a regular "HD" pocket clip can be slipped on for inside pocket carry, as well.

Asking $140, with $8 covering shipping in the US. Paypal, money orders, checks all good.

back to the top. It's a new design, but it really is a sweet grind. I'll drop to $140 each

Someone suggested I get photos of 'action' with these.

I suck at this. we couldn't get any shots.

I did take both and do several fencing grip stabs into the silver maple stumps, no tip issues. I prefer icepick grips on smaller knives and did several forward/reverse/forward slash combos ending with slid stabs. Decent penetration into pine. through the leather/CCF wrap I use on the pell.

The grip is small, but solid.

So, back to the top.
