Zorro Rides Into Town

I'm enjoying all the knives Jack. Definitely making me smile as I look at them.

Here ya go Jack. Bringing in Curly's err Jack Palance's herd. He lived here in Tehachapi. We'd go help out once in a while. I'm third from the right horseback and Nichole is far right.

Great write-up. It always warms my heart to hear a tale of generosity and this is a great one.
When I was a kid, my dad built our first TV from an used oscilloscope. We got our first store bought just about the time The Lone Ranger, Roy and Hoppy hit the air waves. My Sat mornings were spent glued to the tube before going out to play. Around that time, the movie theater had a kiddie matinee also on Sat. and every once in a while Lash LaRue or Red Ryder would ride into town.

Anyway, this thread brought back some pleasant thoughts of an earlier time.
Thanks and Grats.

The Porch simply contains way too much generosity. Sometimes it's just doesn't compute in today's crazy mixed up world. Good on ya!

I had the Novelty Co. Wildlife Collection at one point, but have since given them all away. While not as specific as the Silver Screen Series, they did bring back memories of childhood trips to Yellowstone. And the type of souvenir item I would oooo and aaaah.

Here are a few of the novelty items I've fallen for, and still have lying around. Sometimes you just need to let the inner kid do its thing. Even if it means buying something silly. :)

Great memories my friend :) I have to tell you that British TVs looked like re-purposed oscilloscopes until about 1970 though! :D ;)

That's very generous of Tom. It's good to remind ourselves that hobbies should be fun! :D

What a fantastic collection, I loved those toy crossbows! :D

Jack it made me very happy to send Zorro and company to you, so glad you like it!

Thank you once again Tom, you're a star my friend :)

These knives are all a lot of fun, but I am a little confused about the Humbug knife. What is it exactly? Why is it a severe test for the temper?

Jack Black Jack Black what a wonderful gift of fun knives to receive and the Case is super fine. Whetstone39 Whetstone39 a very kind and thoughtful gesture. Even at my age I love novelty knives and all kinds of miniatures. Great pics of cool happy stuff. :)

Thanks a lot Dwight :)

Loving all these fun knives. I too love the old Richards knives. They remind me of my boyhood and it feels great to carry them to this day. Fully understand the appeal of those generously gifted knives. Here's my latest. :)
