The WOW factor of this knife is beyond that of any knife I have ever examined personally.

The pattern of the damascus on the maker's mark side of the blade angles backward from the spine toward both edges. Turn the knife over, and the damascus pattern angles forward from the spine toward both edges. This is the work of a consummate master whose goal obviously was to demonstrate the level of his skill. The accomplishment is simply stunning.

This phenomenal blade is 9" long, constructed from multi-bar twist L6/01 damascus. The handle was originally wood and was later re-handled in oosic.

Damascus and blued steel fittings, blued steel hilt.

Replacement value of this knife has been estimated at upwards of $2,500, but it does show some light handling wear (i.e. very light scuffing of the bluing on the hilt--could easily be erased with a good cold bluing product like Brownell's Oxpho-Blue).

Thanks, Roger.

Is there a more impressive bladesmith alive than Tim Zowada?

Is there a more impressive blade in existence from Tim Zowada, as a pure demonstration of his mastery of forging damascus steel?

I'd bet that among today's most knowledgeable connoisseurs of the American blade, the preponderance of answers to both questions would weigh heavily toward "No". And yet this unique blade is so affordable, especially considering what it represents.

$100 price reduction.

Now $1,150 shipped in USA, money orders only.

This is Tim Zowada.

This is Tim Zowada forging one of the most beautiful, complicated, almost unbelievable, examples of a damascus blade you will ever see.

This incredible blade is now for sale for

$1,000

this thread makes me crazy! i have always wanted one of mr zowada's knives and this dagger is a great example of his work and more than reasonably priced. BUT daggers are forbidden where i live, and this one would never ever get through customs. somebody shall take this beauty, please!

Replaced a couple of pics above with better ones.

I can't seem to get a photograph that does justice to the richness of the damascus, and to the wonderful character of the oosic, in one shot.

Well, that makes Canada, Europe and the UK. Wouldn't anyone in the US like an incredible example of some of Tim Zowada's most impressive damascus ever created?
