I have a ZT 0200 I have carried, but never used other than to cut open some cardboard boxes. I really like the look, feel, size of the blade, But before I take the plunge and use it hard, I am wondering about an alternative. Problem: Although I don't expect a knife to look new after hard use, I do wish there was a knife a lot like this one but in uncoated, plain satin. Every black blade I have ever had shows scratches and looks like it has been to Hell and back as soon as I start really using it. So, the big question is what can I get comparable to this knife, in the same price range as this? Just trying to see if there is any chance of a straight trade for something, but if the only other heavy duty alternatives are a lot more money then I will just use this. Maybe I can still buff out scratches later.

Don't fret the DLC coating on your Zt0200. I have an 0300 that I have used to cut through 2x4's, cut wire, open sacks of concrete etc. etc the coating is still holding up. The Zt's are great heavy use folders for work etc.

Man that would be great!! I thought for sure it would come right off. Would love it to work out like yours.

There's a ZT out there that might be exactly what you're looking for. Check your email. :)

Are you sure you want a satin finish blade? A satin finish whether done by hand or machine is going to show wear and scratches even faster than a DLC coated blade. I think you may want a stonewashed finish. I think there may some confusion in the difference between a satin finish and a bead blast finish. I know that Knifeworks states the finish to be a satin bead blast, but it is just a bead blast finish. Maybe they do the bead blasting after they satin finish it? I doubt it though.

I blasted mine then tumbled it for the stone washed finish.
