I REALLY want an 0551 or 0550...but I need something to sate my thirst until I can find one.

What are the big differences between the 0200s and the 0300s in person?
I've held an 0300 at a gun show, but never even seen an 0200.

I'm aware of the material differences, and one is speedsafe one is not.

I mean are they basically the same size/heft? blade/lock thickness the same or different?

They look very similiar but not quite identical.

Thanks for your help.

ETA: Is the 0200 a frame lock or a liner lock?

The 0200 is a SS linerlock, manual opener with a flipper, 3D G10 scales.

The 0300 is a Ti framelock, Assisted Opener with a flipper, 3D G10 scales on the non-lock side and 3D Ti on the lock side. It features the Hinderer lock stop.

Here's my only comparison pic: 0200, 0300, 0301, and 0350.

Both are very large and beefy folders. The linerlock on the 0200 is as thick as framelocks on some other knives. I love them both.

Here's a pic of the 0350 and 0200 locks.

The 0200 is a liner lock and is a bit wider/heavier than the framelock 300.

The 0300 has a taller blade and slightly less recurve, blade thickness seems about the same.

The 0300 has a taller handle with less curves which seems to fit my hand a bit better.

On the 0300, the thumbstuds serve as a blade stop and it has AO.

The 0300 seems to have slightly more agressive jimping, but a less prominent thumb ramp.

The 0200 sits deeper in the pocket when carried tip up.

Both are fantastic knives worth every penny. Hope I helped.

This is exactly the kind of info I needed, especially the comparison pic.

Looks like I'll order up an 0200 while I wait for the 0550 to come available or see an 0551 for sale at a decent price ;)

I felt the 0300s blade was a bit tall for my liking. now that I know the 0200 is pretty much the same size knife with that taken care of some it makes the choice easier. Price difference is another bonus!.

Just picked up a 0200 and love it. Had a 301 and wish I had it back instead. Like the 0200 just fine, just miss the frame lock. You cant miss with either. The 0200 is nice because its half the price!!

I looked at and handled both before deciding on the knifeworks 0200 (satin blade finish) I liked the S30V and ti frame lock of the 300, but the blade just seemed to short and wide for me. The 200's grip is super comfortable and very secure feeling. The thumbstuds on the 200 are a lot easier to use too, the 300's are very close to the scales and harder to get to. The liner lock on the 200 is very strong and thick, definitely up there with many frame locks. If the 300 had a 200 blade size/shape and handle shape, I would have gone with that.

Both are too heavy compared to the 0551 for EDC. The 0200 is the lighter out of the two. I have edc the 0200 for a while. The 0350 is the real edc knife out of the design. I found the 0350 every bit. as tough as the 0200.

I've had both and they're both great. On paper, I should like the 0200 more (blade steel aside). But...it just hasn't hooked me like the 0302 did. The 0200 is an excellent knife which I have no hesitation in recommending. But the 0300 just feels special.

So there you go. I recommend the 030x

If you really want a ZT 0551, just put a "want to buy" post in the classifieds here. I did that two weeks ago and had three offers for brand new knives within a couple of hours.

I ended up with this one for less than the price of a new 0301:

I have the 0200, 0300, 0350 and the 0551.

0551:
. framelock, Hinderer lines and Ti
0350
. Nice weight, flat profile
0300
. Solid, framelock, Ti
0200
. SOLID, longer blade, sculpted G10 scales, nice ergonomics

But I tend to EDC a Spec Bump:
. Solid, sculpted G10, ergos similar to the 0200.

I just got a 200 the other week and I love it!
I'm already planning the purchase of a 30x within the month :)

Though I personally prefer the way the 200 feels in the hand, but I think they're both great!

there a bit on the heavy side for pocket carry so i went with a homemade sheath for my zt 0300 and do carry it edc style with my Gayle Bradley in my pocket. in the sheath i can almost forget the big ZT is there.

You got it for less than the price that everyone else is selling the 0551 for?
