hello I'm new here in bladeformums so I'm not sure this is the correct place to post this.
On to my question. I'm looking at either the benchmade 275 or ZT 03xx to replace my cold steel 4" voyager that is finally wearing out. my concern is that i have very large hands and the handle on the ZT looks rather small. because it would be my hard use edc i want to be able to get a good solid grip. is it just because its so wide that it looks short? (btw i Wear XXL gloves)

thanks

Welcome and here's a pic for you. And yes it's a pink tape. It's all they had and I needed one.

I've given up on wearing gloves because they don't come big enough lol. And the 4" length in the picture above is the same as my voyager which is border line too small

I own both, go for the Adamas, it's simply the better knife

Hm, it seems that the 560 is longer overall (According to Kai, and BladeHQ.), but, according to BladeHQ, the 300 has a longer handle, same blade size, and is shorter overall? What?

300:

Overall Length: 8.625"
Blade Length: 3.75"
Handle Length: 5.125"

But, 3.75 + 5.125 = 8.875.

560:

Overall Length: 8.75"
Blade Length: 3.75"
Handle Length: 5.00"

I have several 300's, a 560 and had an adamas. The 300 handle to me is the most comfortable. I have medium size hands. The 560 does have a longer handle, but it's also thinner and narrower than the 300. The Adamas felt blocky and uncomfortable to me, otherwise it's an awesome knife.

I own a 301 and I used to own an Adamas. The ergos on the Adamas werent bad but to me the ZT is much more comfortable. I was the same when I was looking at the 301 before I held one. To me it didnt look as big as everyone said but after I got one in hand that opinion changed drastically. Also for what its worth the handle on the Adamas to me didnt have the traction that the ZT does.

According to Benchmade's website the closed length is 4.88 and the ZT closed is 5.1 so the ZT actually has a slightly larger handle than the Adamas. On the other hand, the Adamas is slightly thicker than the ZT IIRC so you may want to take that into account as well. Both are great blades and should serve you well.

Just measured and it looks like about a 1/4 inch more grip on the 560 than the 30x.

Thanks everyone for the help.
I've heard there is a new 2014 model 300 with a steel insert on the tI lock bar where it meets the blade?

It does. :)

In my opinion, get yourself an 0200! It costs less, and I prefer the handle, I'll post some pics in a moment. :)

There's a store about 1 hour from me I think I'll go down there to check them out. The reason I asked in the first place is because the store doesn't allow under age people like myself to handle any blades which I think is silly. If I'm gonna give you 300 bucks for a knife I better be allowed to hold it.

They probably won't let you buy it, either.
