ZT 0300BW 2nd Gen question.

I recently purchased a ZT 0300BW Second Generation with the "Steel Lock Bar Insert".

I was surprised to see that there was no lock bar stabilizer. All the pictures I'd seen of the 0300BW in various ad's showed it with a lock bar stabilizer but I understand now they must have been first gen pic's.

Question, Anyone know why ZT decided to drop this feature from the newer upgraded version?

I'm not concerned about it and very pleased with the knife but just curious as to why the newer version doesn't have the lock bar stabilizer?

Any input with be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The steel insert in the lock bar acts as a stabilizer. If you look carefully, you will see there is overlap between the insert and the titanium frame, so you can't over extend the lock bar.

So there is no need for the external lockbar stabilizer any more, and it gives the knife a cleaner look.

I had the same question when I bought my 0300 earlier this year.

Thank you very much for the explanation!

That makes sense, I was just curious and everyone I had asked didn't seem to know.

Thanks again!
