ZT 0301 grind?

I just got my 302 a few days ago. Shaving sharp (way sharper than a friends 200 that came at the same time) and perfect jimping. I'm very happy with mine.

good, I am still happy with mine as well. It's a beast of a folder. Heavier then it needs to be though.

please forgive my ignorance,,I am new here but have a huge love of anything sharp,,but jsut what the heck is a swedge grind??,,I am trying to learn all I can so if you will please someone help this old knife lover out

The swedge is the grind on the top of the blade. It is a false edge and not sharpened. Sometimes used to save some weight of the blade or on thicker bladed knives used to make a thinner tip for better piercing. Thats if the swedge goes all the way to the tip. Mostly used to look cool though.

The fit and finish on mine is not up to par with other Kershaws I have owned in the past. The jimping on the scales is uneven and slack as hell. Just get a Strider SMF if you can. They weigh half as much and way more comfortable to hold and carry. Plus full flat gring cuts better

eh? Have you ever seen an SMF with a back pacer portion that was flush with the Ti? I have owned alot of Striders and would never hold them as the paragon of high F&F.... I do agree that the jimping on your 0300 does look a bit wonky though. I have owned 8 different 0300s and the jimping looked good on all of them... to the extent that I paid attention to it :p

Don't really know what question you are asking, but all of the Striders I have owned have been perfect.

You need to read my post again, this time with your glasses on. Because I didn't say anything about Strider as the "paragon of high F&F" Even though all mine have always been very nice.

Read it w/ glasses on.... this time as last.... I see where you say it's not up to the F&F standards of other Kershaws (clearly you are putting more emphasis on that part of the statement). However, you flow directly into recommending a Strider which has notorious F&F. Yes it weighs less, yes the handle is more confortable to some.... but, I got stuck on fit and finish and if the jimping being wonky on a Strider were all that was wrong with it then I would consider myself lucky. I Have owned 2 SnGs, 1 Pt, 2 ARs and a Gb. Out of those only 1 didn't have something obviously wrong with it (off centered, poor fitting G-10, vertical blade play.... None of this is even relevant to the topic at hand..... just saying. Take it easy dude.

I'll work on getting that pic...

I like a pointy tip and I figured if ANY knife could spare some metal out front and still be strong...it was this ZT.

I went back and forth on removing the recurve but finally settled on leaving it. It's something that makes this knife what it is and it really improves its cutting power.
That's a great idea, and I'd also like to see a pic.
I've thought of doing the same thing to my 0300. Its point is so obtuse that I find myself hardly carrying it at all, in favor of most other knives that have a point that I find more useful.
