This has been my edc for a few years now and it had been flawless. I've become spoiled with the durability and size of the knife. I'm looking to buy a replacement for it for no other reason other than I want another knife. What options do I have to not give up any size or strength? Custom or factory offerings are fine. Under $300 please.

This one...the Spyderco TUFF in CPM-3V. I've had two of these. The designer said he figured it to be a "folding fixed blade."
My second one could be opened with one hand; the first one took both hands. Great knife; WONDERFUL steel.
You can check around for the best price. I see them on the Exchange quite often for $200 as-new.

Assuming you don't want another ZT 0300 series like the 0300BW Gen 2 with lockbar insert.

MicroTech DOC flipper or Reate District 9-A (drop point) or 9-B (tanto) flippers.

All four have 3.75" blades.

The 0560, 0620, 0630, and 0200 are pretty close in size. The 0550 is a little smaller, but it has a thicker handle, so it still has a very robust, beefy feel. The 0562 and 0801 are also a little smaller and thinner than the 0301 and good for a medium-large EDC.

Here's a side-by-side of several of the production model ZT's (or at least a representative variation of each model).

It sounds like you've already found the perfect knife for you. Perhaps get a backup in a different color/finish.

I'd say go for a Strider SMF next, but that's past your $300 price tag.

Take some of these guys' recommendations and stay in the ZT family, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Nothing is wrong with my 301 and it will probly be hard to give up for another edc but knives are like guns and u can't have too many. I really like the 0560 but after playing with both the 301 feels like it can cut the 0560 in half. As far as strider goes I have used many, but I wouldn't give up my ZT's for one for the price difference.

I'd give DPX gear a look. I've been totally impressed.and satisfied with my heft T3. Even though the blade is only 3.15" it works and feels a lot larger and the rotolock is the best mechanism out as far as.I'm concerned. Happy hunting

I did the same thing a few months ago. I carried a 0301 for a little over a year every single day.

I switched to a Spyderco Military and don't feel I have given up anything in strength or size. But have gained a little in slimness and slicing ability.

My 16 year old son now has that 0301 ,like all my cast-offs. And he now carries it when not carrying my old 350 or 1st Gen 550.

For strength I'd stick with ZT and go with the 0560 or 0620, i love both.

great options, although probably the 0562 instead of the 0560.

All of these ^ are great options

The military is also a good popular more heavy duty knife, haven't used one but they look great. I'd be on it if I could find one for tip up carry

Personally also for $300 the TSF beast is great if it fits your hand, Emerson also makes a lot of great ones for under $300 if you like the designs and they fit your hand but that boils down to preference. The Grayman DUA in stonewash runs $295. I would recommend something a little more out of the norm than production but all of these that have been listed are great. Cold steel is really branching out with the steels they are using so you could get something with CTS-XHP or another good steel and the triad lock. Spyderco not only has the TUFF but the Southard flipper, and you could get a Manix 2 or manix 2 XL along with some of these others if you wanted to get 2. Theres a lot of good options out there. First I'd say decide if you want something similar or much different in design. Ultimately then I would suggest to find the designs that appeal visually and see if they are comfortable in hand. That's the ultimate way to find something that works for you.
Good Luck either way! let us know what you find

This. LOVE my Tuff. It's seriously a $500 knife that sells for $200.

It's name describes it perfectly. If your budget is under $300 and you like large, beefy and overbuilt folders, you can't beat a Tuff.

They are both hefty thick folders that you feel like you can stab through a brick wall. Ironically I just purchased my first 0300 and I'm excited to get it.

Lion steel sr-1 or 056x. I love my combative edge m1 it has the same type of specs but it sits thinner in the pocket.

The grayman satu and the dua look interesting. Anyone have pics of both laying beside an 300 series side by side.
