ZT 0350 problem

I've had few ZT's and I've been happy with them except for the 350. I had the same problems: blade offcenter (my suspicion is the linerlock pushing it too much(?)) and the blade hitting the backspacer.

Same here, of all my ZTs, the 0350 is the only one the just won't center. It's been pointed out before, and I believe mine has the same problem, the blade is not actually "true" or strait/flat. I have managed to get it from rubbing, but that's it.

It's a user, so I don't really mind. If I would have known this though, I might have picked a 030x as my first ZT.

Sometimes it's just a matter of adjusting the pivot. You can also try the folded paper trick, which works pretty well on some knives (loosen pivot and handle screws, wedge a small piece of folded paper to push the blade towards the side you want to adjust to, re-tighten the screws starting with the one farthest from the pivot). If you just bought the knife, you might contact whomever you got it from to see if they can exchange it. If not, get ahold of Kershaw Warranty, and they should be able to take care of you.

Knife is on its way back. I tried adjusting screws and blade keeps hitting backspacer. Too bad. I had high hopes for Zero Tolerance, this was the first of their knives I bought. Hopefully I just got a bad one and the next one can redeem itself.

I don't think there is a "home" remedy for the blade hitting the back spacer. Unfortunately every company doesn't get it right 100% of the time, there are literately thousands of 350's in pockets all over the world that function perfectly. You are going to enjoy it when you get to test it in real world tasks.

Yea I kind of figured there was nothing you could do to easily fix the blade hitting the backspacer. Nice to have someone confirm it though. OP did the right thing sending it back.

I just received my ZT a few days ago. The blade centering is perfect, (a little disappointed at how small the pivot and bearings are:confused:) but the blade is barely touching the backspacer, and only when I push on the spine of the blade when closed. How should I fix this?

Sharpen it enough so that the blade doesn't come near it. :D Measuring the amount of steel on blade, I've noticed that the variances in the hand sharpening process may sometimes lead to more steel present than on other blades. This will then come closer to the back spacer. I always just leave it, since in a majority of cases it doesn't really touch but comes close.

So just leave it and use the knife.

Moreover, how would one be disappointed at the size of bearings? That's weird.

My ZT0350BRN also hits the backspacer when closes. It's got a few cuts in the plastic from that, but it's not a big deal.
