I'm not a paying member yet, so I can't buy on the forum. If someone knows a place where I can buy the 0360 I'm all ears :)

Perhaps the rules are different since you are international. Here a non-paying member can buy to their hearts delight. But it would be worth the $10 for a basic or the $25 for gold to get the 0360.

GreyMethod,

you ask a good question to which i hope my answer is adequate. on the merits of cost vs. cutting ability, the 0350 is a great knife. but i’m sure you can find a knife for $82 that will do the function of what your 0350 does, maybe even better, but you were still willing to pay the $112 for the 0350- because 1) it's a different knife and 2) it’s what you wanted.

the 0360.skd is also a different knife, and you have to judge it on its own for whether or not it’s worth it to you- and the knife simply costs more from kai than the 0350 does, so the increase in price starts at the factory.

so, first of all- it isn’t merely "less steel". size, shape and weight were considerations for removing the material where we removed it- and size, shape and weight are always considerations for edc knives. with a blade that weighs 30% lighter than the 0350, the opening is noticeably faster. secondly, we had a police officer in hawaii use the carbide glass breaker on his 0360.skd to extricate a car accident victim- we thought that was pretty effin’ cool  so it’s not accurate to describe the changes as “nothing else”.

aside from the design, the lighter/more compact specs and the carbide tip (oh, and the additional add-on accessories we’re hoping to include with a 2nd run that we can't mention yet), from the collectors perspective it also has intrinsic value. it’s not everyday that you have access to a limited edition model from a top-tier knife manufacturer at a price point that is accessible to most folks. custom blade shape, custom features, custom model number and custom serial number sequence counts for something to a lot of folks, even if we demand that this be used hard and put away wet, as a true edc knife should. even with a 2nd run, any given 0360.skd will still be one of hundreds, and not one of tens of thousands like the 0350.

at the end of the day, the knife has to speak to you. the 0360.skd definitely doesn’t speak to everybody, but to those that hear it’s angry soul, it demands a spot on your edc list. if yer interested in a pretty informative review from someone who uses a 0360.skd daily to this day, check out military morons review here.

he recently lost his first 0360.skd in a motorcycle accident (i was able to replace it with one of mine) where it bore the brunt of a pretty long slide across the pavement, preventing some serious road rash. (voice in your head: wait, is this guy implying that the 0360.skd will keep you safe in high-speed vehicular accidents?) YES, I AM.
:jerkit: :p

This is all great news! I'm assuming the email alert function on your website will let us know as soon as the 2nd run is in stock? Any way we can place a pre-order to make sure we don't miss out? ;)

Fair enough. I use my knives, so the collector's standpoint doesn't mean anything to me. I can see where it would (sprint runs and the like) for guys that collect. I love SKD and might buy one of these anyway... along with a PIG-PC and some pouches.

Love my 350WW with the stonewashed finish. I can't say i completely love the 360 bladeshape although if there was a different colored g10, it might peak my interest.

I'd just like to get that 0350ww off you! But I love all my zt's and want all the rest

I'd buy one in any color- asked the ZT about this at Blade two years ago and they said no plans. Really want one of these

I just heard of this knife today and I most certainly would be interested. Handle scale color is optional but the blade should be stonewashed. It looks good and continues to look amazing after years of use.

While I have never had to use a glass breaker I have been looking for a knives with one.

Also I think bottle openers are neat things to have on knives

Most knives have bottle openers on them. Some just work more conventionally than others. My 350 has already opened bottles. As has my Kershaw Shallot.

But I know what you mean, and agree with you.

I agree with RevDevil. The cost did skyrocket when they used zdp but if they use cpm154 and run it towards a higher optimum hardness that would be awesome
