Zt 0392 & zt 0454

So I carried the 0392 around all day today, sort of like when I use to edc the 0350 you are always aware that the knife is there. The blade thickness makes my emerson mini commander seem small. I will certainly be keeping it, it is like a work of art

I wonder how long the blue will stay on the clip before showing significant wear.

The blue clip is eventualy going to take significant wear. The nice thing is that the entire knife is stonewashed, so a scratched up pocket clip should fit in nicely with the motif.

It is quite possible that at some point and time a stonewashed/alternative clip will be available?Seems like there may be some options down the line.......

You should check out the 0450. :) Similar design by Sinkevich, 3.25" blade, KVT, Ti handles, and clip can be swapped for lefty carry (tip up only).

Now Flarp...you're just being an enabler don'cha know :p

I have both as well. I much prefer the 0454 to the 0392. A good bit lighter, feels much better in hand, shows little wear, and flips much harder. I'll keep the 0392, but only as a collector and not as a user.

I think the 0392 and the 0454 were my most anticipated acquisitions in the last 6 months. I haven't actually carried the 0454 yet because it's so pretty but I'm going to bring it into my rotation along with the 0392. I was a bit surprised by the weight the first time I held the 0392 but I don't think it'll deter me from carrying it.

I agree whole heartedly. I weighed up a few of my favorites and came up with:
Microtech LCC 5.8 oz
Xm18 5.7 oz
Eklipse 5.3 oz
ZT 0551 6.0
ZT 0561 6.0 (but feels lighter in the hand)

Looks like I'm used to a 5.5-6oz knife so the 0392 at 5.8 fits right in.

I've got lots in the middle 4 OZ mark
Microtech socom 4.4 oz
Benchmade 720 w/ alu scales 4.5 oz
Large Sebenza Insingo 4.7

I find these cary just about the same and the wight difference is not noticed.

What I do notice is the space they take up in the pocket and the slim and long (something like the 454) often do ride nicer in the pocket that the slightly shorter but wide models. Throw something like a 0300 in your pocket and you won't have any room for anything else!
However, if I'm looking at the 2.5 to 3.5 oz knives, then I can tell the difference.

BTW, I'm surprised when I go back to a knife like the LCC that is 15 years old and it's weight is right in line with some of the modern "heavy weights."

Probably as long as a hinderer xm ano'd clip would or any other ano'd clip for that matter. Just depends on how much you use it or how much you carry it.
