Who’s in ???
Couldn’t resist had to order one since I have the blue 0393 and fell in love with it . The Bronze Sprint run I think will look even better in person especially after maybe some personalizing. I plan to put a flamed Hinderer clip on mine and filler tab .
These 0393 have some sweet action and a great feel in hand . I also like how the Hinderer hardware will fit and what a great collaboration !

I like it, a LOT, but I went for the 0609BLK. I bought my brother a 0452CF and I've been wanting a similar blade profile ever since.

I'm thinking about it. Sort of weird to have a limited edition in a lower priced steel. I don't have any issue with S35VN though.
Haven't picked up at 393 yet, so not sure which variant I want..

The ZT 0609 is a really nice blade

The 0393 is a beautiful series. I just picked up a Hinderer 3.5 inch Fatty Harpoon and have been holding out for the Half Track Tanto. These blade shapes are all so similar. For Winter clothing protection, I like them a great deal. The ability to penetrate looks like it is there.

I accepted the deal b/c I need a decent blade profile and try to stay as close to 2.5 inches of blade for a Chicago folder.

Not to turn this thread into a debate on blade steel but S35vn is no slouch and is a great steel .
But yes the 0393 is a great EDC and Hinderer Design .
I really think they nailed it with this one
But I do prefer the CPM 20CV on the blue standard run .
I definitely won’t loose any sleep over it though :) I do like S35vn a lot.

Not me, I still am not a big fan of the 0393 series and think it was a waste of potential... coming from a guy who has owned every other ZT Hinderer, and multiple hinderers. The ZT 0609BLK has potential, but hesitant to import into Canada, so we shall see if any Canadian dealers get it.

A waste of potential ? Please elaborate Sir . The 0393 has some of the best flipping action out of any ZT I’ve ever handled . Fit and finish first class right up there with my factory custom ZT 0392 .
You are absolutely entitled to your opinion just curious on how you’ve come to this conclusion.
I owned a zt 0609 and for me it felt to thin in hand and more of a gentleman’s knife but thats ok if that’s what your looking for . The 0393 fit my hand better and just felt more solid . But again that’s just my hand and my personal opinion .

On a Side note less then a week ago I emailed Kershaw/ZT asking for some extra screws for my filler tab and clip.
I explained I wanted to buy some but couldn’t find them on there website .
So in less then a week they sent me some free of charge  in silver and black .
First class customer service

I will probably get one if they will become available over here. I am wondering what might happen about those G10 Overlays. Will RHK make some? Will ZT make some? Are they gonna leave it to aftermarket and just sell some 0393CF if you want CF overlays?

It’s a simple mod and can’t imagine it not being offered by someone .
Omg some CF would look so nice and there could be so many other nice options

Congrats OP!
Sadly I am still not sure about the g10 overlay. Maybe I will have a different opinion if I hold the knife in person? idk...
On a side note, 0609 looks better although I am afraid it is too small for me. Patiently waiting for other new releases if ZT this year ...

I didn't like the 0393 at first, but it is really growing on me, and I like the sprint run a lot also. I may have to get the spring run to try one out.

It is a bit tricky since you need to recess the pivot. So you need the right tools or a steady hand and patience. But yes, doable.

I primarily don't use "gentlemen's" knives, but the 0609blk seems it would make a good one. The 0393 is a waste of potential because it is a weird mixture of hard use and artistic design that doesn't do it for me. The 0393 fails many important categories for me that a proper hard use(for my intentions hard use/ military folder), the G10 overlays provide less traction than G10 handles would(especially with gloves), handles have less stand offs than normal hinderers or backspacer thus technically could be less sturdy/strong. The BRZ is an improvement with getting rid of that ridiculous dual toned blade. The lock surface area is smaller among other things, thus from a physics standpoint the lock is weaker than full framelock(not saying it isn't good, just not as good). So... that is why, less traction, and not as strong. Two of the most important things in a "hard use" knife.

EDIT: Also, in response to your great action comment... all my ZT's have amazing action... some slightly better than others, but all open 100% of the time and that is all that really matters.
