ZT 0393 BRZ SPRINT RUN

G Gideons Thanks so much for taking the time to post your opinion and thoughts
With that being said I think it’s more of personal preference then the knife having “potential “
I do agree with you on one of your thoughts and that’s most all ZT’s have great action . It’s just the 0393 flips like one of the best I’ve ever handled .
Have you ever actually handled a 0393 or are your thoughts mostly with speculation and looks ?
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts

TheFactor TheFactor Which of my comments are you referring too "Have you ever actually handled a 0393 or are your thoughts mostly speculation and looks"?

@Gideon in fear this thread might be heading in the wrong direction :)
Disregard Sir and have a great day

In the world of knives, it seems that the market is flooded with some variation of blue. I like the 393, but not in blue. So yes, I bit the bullet with this bronze version. Annnnd I guess the S35VN will do even though it's not the flavor of the month steel.

Ah okay. Well, I was just curious because my "thoughts" were not speculation, as they're based of dimensions/materials and scientific formulas... thus scientifically proven/justified my statements, not just my opinion. Not to mention the "traction" is pretty simple, you have cut outs where you you removed material with high traction with smooth metal. Not saying the knife doesn't have good traction/ergonomics... but they could of been better. Anyways, I don't mean to get off topic/derail the thread.

You were making valid logical points, he was just asking if you tried it it or just going by "on paper". It wasn't an attack.
And I have one, and I agree with your points, so you aren't wrong. The 0392 big brother has a stronger lock (feel) the 0393 feels like a linerlock, and the G10 provides good texture but it doesn't feel grippy as they say, it is to me a very nice compromise between hard use and dressy. At work I still find myself with my 0562 or even more so 0909, the latter is a big beefy tool, designed to be used. :)
No harf feelings Gideons.

I like variety so the blue fits right in a long with the bronze and yes we will have to live with S35vn :)

Agreed on all points Sir and well said
I think the 392 is a great knife and one of my favs no doubt . That’s what actually headed me for my first 0393 and loved it so much a bronze is on the way.
To me the 0393 has the perfect amount of traction for “my” applications . If I’m feeling more grippy and for maybe a bigger challenge my Emerson Tiger will ride in my pocket like it is today . There’s so many great knife manufactures out there that makes a knife for pretty much everyone’s needs and wants
My 0392 ended up a safe queen but I will get around to carrying it I’m sure lol.

I’m holding off on the 393 for now, in hopes someone will start cranking out “off the shelf” overlays at a reasonable price. The black won’t do it for me and I’m too cheep to invest in one-off custom scales (seems like they get pricey real fast).

Well just Recieved Shipping notification.
That was fast just ordered it yesterday evening
Hopefully it’ll be here by the weekend and I’ll post up some pics with and without the Hinderer flamed clip and filler tab . Still undecided on the brass spacers . I’ll know more when it’s in hand and can see the color of the bronze better .

Those are some interesting pics of the black dlc on the 0609
The 0609 is a real sexy knife ! Really nice lines and 3D ti is beautiful .
Just wish it would of felt good in my hand . Felt way to thin and never felt like my palm “EDIT” more like the center of my hand was making full contact . Also with a strong grip I could feel and hear the lock bar click . Just didn’t feel solid to me. We’re as the 0393 feels rock solid and fills my hand to we’re it feels planted there. Again just my personal experience and everyone’s hands are different but I’d say I’d have just medium hands and the 0609 really felt bad in hand . I really tried to like it just because it was so sexy and I bet was a great slicer since it was nice and thin behind the edge . The new black one is even better looking then the gold that I had IMO .

Does it not bother you guys that the ZT0609blk's black "dlc" is really shiny and reflective? I was imagining the DLC to be closer to what the 0392blk was like, just a smoother matte black, but after seeing those pics on bladehq it seems like that's not the case. Almost looks.. anodized on?

I prefer the flat black like what’s on my 0392

My exact thoughts and I think Kevin Cleary nailed it on this review !

Looks like KSF is already Sold out of the 0393 BRZ . Although were I ordered it and a few other dealers still have them in stock .
Looks like mine has landed at my local Post office so I might get it by this weekend after all :D
Can’t wait to see how the flamed Hinderer clip and filler tab looks after switching out the stock hardware and Have a feeling it’s going to be good match

If you can post some pics after the install, I'm sure we'd all like to see. Bold move on the flamed clip. I probably would've gone with the bronze Hinderer clip/pivot/tab, just to play it "safe" but "safe" isn't fun and I appreciate you taking a creative risk.

For sure and looks like it’s out for delivery  I’ll post some pics tonight or Saturday .
Yes I’m normally conservative and not wanting a lot bling just some subtle but tasteful Personalization.

I didn't like the 0393 at first, but it is really growing on me, and I like the sprint run a lot also. I may have to get the spring run to try one out.
I know When I got the ZT 0392 I had to try the 0393 . Loved it so much I almost bought a duplicate but fortunately the sprint run released first . Looks like mine was delivered so just have to get home tonight so I can get my paws on it lol .

I really like the sprint run, and like s35v, so it's a no brainer to me. Now I just have to justify getting another knife which is pretty similar in many ways to my 0562. That won't be too difficult. lol. Let us know how you like it.
