ZT 0450/0900 owners flipping difficulty?

Thanks for the reply yo mama. I cant say that name seriously lol.
I have yet to try the benchmade.
But for me the ZT models all work the same for me as the southard, dice and others I have used.
I do have strong hands so maybe I do not notice the problems.
But they all launch open with solid lock up regardless of variation in the detent.
Hmmm.

Thanks man. Just remember flip responsibly! [emoji12]

I will reiterate what others have said about the 0450...keep fingers off lockbar. As to the Buck Marksman...I can open it with just a wrist flick. Weak, weak detent on mine.

I love my 0450 but initially it was a little tricky to flip. As others have mentioned, avoid contact with the lockbar (which is particularly difficult on this model), but I think the real key is that this knife has a very strong detente and a very slim shape. The slim shape makes it tricky to grip securely, overcome the detente, avoid contact with the lockbar and apply enough force to the flipper to deploy the blade. After a little practice, I got used to it.

My only real complaint about the 0450 is the pocket clip. That knife seems to always want to slide up and out of my pocket.

Get the ZT 0550 clip, I just put one on my 0450. Just took it out of the box and no trouble flipping it.

Oh and i will mention that i did not have any problems actuating either model. The 0900 is a little easier given the larger flipper and wider handle. I usually pull straight back on my flippers with strong detents and these certainly apply imho. I usually only push in on a flipper tab to preload some energy on knives lacking a detent that will do it for me. I honestly dont mind. Even when flippers were not around i had to adjust my technique to whatever knife i was using that day. Sone things change while others stay the same.

All my zt flippers are perfect examples, super detent and i swear they are riding on a cushion of air. Same with my Southard and domino from spyderco. I had a BM 300 and the thing was atrocious. Wouldn't flip without using my wrist and the blade was horribly off center. I returned it for refund and haven't been back to bm since.

Had a 0900 that I just sold....and now regret. But it was pretty easy to flip.

Ordering another one when the funds stabilize.
