ZT 0450 Carbon Fiber Project

how can i convey how totally awesome this is?
there is just one little tiny thing and that is the surface of the all carbon handle... maybe it is the picture, but it looks like it is too smooth, i prefer the look of the 0452cf... but your work is still totally awesome. ;)

Thanks!

The CF material is definitely different than the 452cf in weave and topcoat. Ours is a 1x1 weave and features a clearcoat which seems to make the CF "Pop" and appear more holographic than the ZT, which is a matte 2x2 weave.

One of the things that will stand out most is the chamfering. I noticed that on the 452, the chamfering almost seemed "sloppy". This isn't to criticize ZT or their manufacturing process, but mostly to highlight the difference in the structure of the weave. With a tighter weave, we were able to clean up the chamfered edges a bit more, and showcase the complex design intent of sinkevich on the chamfered edges (there's some complex stuff going on there on the chamfers!)

We have plans to pick up different weaves and finishes in the future (matte/bead last, lightning strike, 2x2, colored twirls, etc), so stay tuned.

I was aware of the weave differences, didn't know about the top coat. That obviously explains a lot. Thanks for your reply.

Also offer the handle in a beadblasted "grippy" texture. We give up some of the holographic appearance of the CF in exchange for the texture.

To put it simply, these are awesome. Usually I am not a fan of CF, but I particularly enjoyed those inlayed stock handles.

nice clean look to this knife with that carbon fiber scale,i just may have to pick one of these up!grate job.

You made those metal scales yourself and added the zero tolerance name?

I like your work, especially the inlay. I thought it was on the lock bar side so I took mine out and got confused looking for the zero tolerance name.

For the problem with the inlay and the screw, you could consider not putting in the screw holes. it limits the carry option but it still matches how it comes from the factory.

Great job.

I know this is an old post but I just wanted to say the cf work is incredible. I will be getting the inlay from you somehow I love it. You do fantastic work and I’m glad to have seen this post.
