ZT-0450 Dual (STD/Deep) Carry Pocket Clip WIP

Ha - very cool clip design there, i'd go one if you will ship to UK

i also seem to usually use the clip-ramp for locating/additional grip on my 0450

which i really like, btw, but it lacks deep carry

bring it on pls

need testers?

Woah, just saw this, Chris. This is the one thing I really don't like about my 0450, (that and the shallow flat grind) and this clip looks amazing! I am first in line for this when its ready.

Was just looking at this again. Here are my preferences:

The length I think is ok, if you need to shorten it, you can't too much or you'll be into the lock bar cutout.
I prefer this to be a standard depth clip rather than a deep carry. This knife doesn't lend itself well to a lanyard due to the placement of the hole, so I'd rather have a bit more to grab. And I, too, place my fingers on the clip when I deploy.
It might be good to offer this in both polished and tumbled finish so there is a choice to match the handle or the pivot.

My final word would be don't listen to me, you look like you are knocking it out of the park all on your own. If you need a beta tester, I'm here for you.

Still here gang. Unfortunately we have been slammed in production for our clients. The design is evolving but unfortunately the need to keep the lights on and machines fed take precedence for now.

Got a great solution in the pipe. Please bear with us!

I am not a fan of this pocket clip. With all respect. The concept is their but I get the feeling of too much bulk. The mounting area is too bulky and the thickness of the clip itself is too bulky. THe clip sticks out too much, it almost doubles the thickness of the knife in the picture.

Just checking in to see if you guys have any updates on the clips. I hope things are running smoothly.

i think its a improvement on the stock version of the clip,i was thinking of getting a 0450 because i'm into the flippers lately,by the way,i replaced stock clips on my brad southards because of the same reason! dislike there pocket clip,so this my push me to buy the 0450!

Really liking this clip, especially with that small cf accent. Once you guys market this and that cf inlay front slab, you won't be able to take my money fast enough.

I just got a 0450 and am looking to upgrade my clip when the right option presents itself. I like your design but agree it could be shorter and less bulky in the rear. Personally I feel like it should be more simple like a pen type clip. The style of the clip on the LE Kershaw Ruby would be perfect for this knife IMO. Simple, stylish and unobtrusive. At any rate, thank you for your effort. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I've been stalking this thread waiting for an update. Hoping you have something soon. The first one was great looking, can only imagine what an updated, deeper carry option would look like.

Me too! Excited for a possible replacement for the stock clip, I frequently catch it on furniture, car doors etc and bend it out of shape.

I have two 0450cf knives and am as we speak, having a custom makuti clip made for one of them. One thing I wanted is to retain the length as I carry it in my jean right front pocket that I always dig into to pull something out. I particularly sought out the same deep pocket attraction in the current production of my clip. As for holding the knife at the time of deployment I hold it up high with the thumb near the middle or top and my fingers up high as well near the top of the clip. I would be interested in purchasing a second clip for my other 0450cf and a more ergonomic clip does sound attractive. All black clip may be a consideration in your future designs.

Further thread revival, I too am interested in a custom clip for my 0450. Something like this would fit the bill nicely:
