Hello forum members...I am looking at getting a new titanium frame lock and considering the ZT 0450 and the Sage 2. Would like to hear opinions and experiences on the two...I like both their size and weights and I own several Spydies but no ZTs. Thanks for the input!

I love KAI USA. I've owned plenty of Kershaws and ZTs in my day. Based on the simple fact that you already have some Spyders, I would say get the 0450.

But the fact of the matter is that I would recommend the ZT regardless. It makes a great EDC, with snappy flipper action and plenty of blade length for it's size. It's a tad thin in the hand, but I'm a fan of the ergos.

S35VN is a good, all-around steel and ZT treats it well. I think you should try the 0450 and see if you like it. If you don't, I'm sure you can get your money back on the exchange. That's one of the best parts of a gold membership.

Here are a few shots to give you a better idea of the knife.

I like the 0450 more. It is very slim and compact, yet packs a good amount of blade. It has a much smaller footprint in pocket than the Sage, and the KVT makes the opening and closing extremely smooth. Ergos are good as well, especially given how slim the knife is. I've seen some people report that their pinky rests right on the little protrusion section at the base of the handle, which could become a hotspot. Mine actually rests on the flat part just past it, so it fits me just fine. Also, if it's your preference, you can put one of the deep carry clips (like off the 0560) instead of the standard clip.

The Sage 2 is a nice knife too. It has the large thumb ramp familiar among many of Spyderco's leaf blades. It also has the choil for choking up on the blade. The wire deep carry clip is also very discrete.

Here are a few side by side shots of the two. The actual blade on the 0450 is a bit pointier and about 1/16" longer than mine. I accidentally dropped mine, broke the tip, and sort of created a micro-tanto tip when regrinding it.
