ZT 0450 or Spyderco Smock

So I was all set to buy a 0450 TI tomorrow until the Smock came back into stock at blade hq today. Which knife would you guys choose to buy if you could only have one. I’m needing some help on this one! Thanks guys!
 
I like the Smock. I'm not a fan of Ti handled knives and frame locks. I have a big hand and frame locks feel skinny in my hand. I like another scale to make a fatter handle. YMMV.

Okay I dig that viewpoint as well! I too have big hands so that’s something to think about. Thanks for the input!
 
If you were all set to buy the 0450, why hesitate? Do you like the Smock more?
Visually, I find the 0450 far more appealing than the Smock; but that's me.

I agree. I just cant decide if i should jump on the Smock because it goes out of stock quickly and then buy the 0450 later since it doesn't. I want to have both in the collection eventually and i cant decide if it would be a better move to buy the less available knife first and the more available knife second or if i should just buy the knife i think i like more first. these are life changing decisions here haha. thanks for the input!
 
I have an 0450cf that, to be perfectly honest, rarely sees any pocket time. Nice knife to be sure but I'm not too fussy about it, never really bonded with it for some reason.

Now the Smock kind of interests me, maybe I'll have to try one out....
 
0450s are ground way too thick for my tastes on a knife that size. Just a little fella but has the edge geometry of a fatty spanto tip.

The Smock is wonderfully hollow ground and will separate matter much better than the 0450 in my experience with both.
 
I have been carrying a Smock on and off for several months now and it is definitely a favorite. The 0450 felt too small in hand for my liking. Now the 0462 is a perfect fit and is what I generally rotate the Smock with.

I have neither knife, for the record. I've handled the 0450, and didn't like it; and there are things about the Smock that are automatic disqualifiers, for me (aside from it being ugly af).
I expect that kylemiller's statement about the Smock cutting better is accurate, though.
 
They are both great knives and great flippers...I would lean towards the Smock, the ZT felt small and the flipping action on the Smock was fun and great! Get both of you can!
 
Well, if you decided on the Smock hope you grabbed one because they're gone from BHQ now.......

I own more Spydercos than ZT's but have never handled a Smock. I do own an 0450cf that I love. The ZT for sure wins in the looks department, IMO the Smock isn't the prettiest knife out there. I don't care for the holes in the scale.

I actually didn’t get one. I was going to do it tomorrow but I decided on just the 0450 anyway. I can’t believe the smock sold out that fast. They were in stock for like 3 hours... wow
