Deployment is smooth. IMO the detent is on the firmer side. You definitely have to apply pressure to open the blade which provides a reliable flip.
I think the knife deploys nicely. The reason I am selling it, is that the knife/blade shape “just didn’t do it for me” and I am purchasing other knives.
