ZT 0452cf Concern

Oh maybe it's the "Russia only" version I'm thinking of. My buddy has every version, so used to seeing his.

The Russia only version is the 0454 CTS204P, but it still has carbon fiber. The 0450 is all titanium, but it is much smaller. Obviously I have way too much time on my hands. 😐

Ah gotcha. Coulda sworn they had a titanium one, but might be getting mixed up with the small one. Haven't seen one in forever. Every time we order one they're on back order lol

I have taken a good number of these apart and they do have a washer on the CF side for the Bearings to rub against. This would have been my only concern with the scale side being CF and ZT addressed it. Buy with confidence and quit worrying!

That Russian-only "version" is actually G10.

My original 0454 doesn't have a steel/Ti liner, nor does my Benchmade 940-1 (well to be fair, the liner only covers 50% of the scale). As others have mentioned, it's nothing to be worried about. CF will hold up unless you are purposefully trying to destroy the knife.

I stand corrected. The Russian version does use G10.

Thanks all, you've definitely cleared this up for me! One more question for anyone who's still hanging around this thread, how does the 0452cf stack up against the 0562cf? Wondering if I should start looking for one of those

The 0452 is lighter weight, longer, slimmer, and in my opinion carries better in the pocket. I also think it flips better.

That being said, the 0562 CF costs a little more, is shorter, wider, has a steel liner on the CF side so is heavier, has more expensive steel, is probably a better slicer, feels more heavy duty, and IMO does not flip quite as well as the 0452, but it still flips great.

I had one, sold it, and still have the 0452 if that means anything. The 0452CF is a great knife, I only sold it because I found something else that I wanted more.

Depends on your particular wants/needs for an EDC. One is a fat 3.5" slicer grind blade, the other is a 4.1" slim pointy blade. Neither one is better, just different. I can't tell you which fits your needs better.

I'd say buy which ever one you like the most.

Also consider weather there are any legal issues with blade length where you live.
