ZT 0452cf vs 0804cf vs ZT 0460/0450

As of now, I would buy 0804cf if I were you OP because it is discontinued and it is on sale at the same price as 0452.

In your review you said that the 460 beat the 450 in most categories. Why now do you say that the 450 is better than the 460?

I think of the knives listed the 0452 is my favourite. Even though it is larger than the 804 in terms of length, it carries way thinner and nicer. Also you can get a full Ti blue anodized 452 from usamadeblade. Just a great knife, feels like a folding sabre and the action is great. Unlike most ZT knives this one doesn't have a steel liner under the CF scale. Neither do the 450 and 460.

The 450 and 460 are similar and feel similar to eachother. The 460 feels abit "sleeker" and i believe the 460 might be abit more narrow behind the edge, but don't quote me. My only issue with these 2 is the standoff screws thread directly into the Ti lockbar side making these not ideal for disassembly.

K Knifeaddict556 I like them both, and although the 0460 IS a bit thinner behid the edge, IMO the 0450 makes a slightly better all-around EDC.

These are my impressions; YMMV.
-The 0450 feels more solid in hand. I think this has to do with grip amgle more than anything else.
-The 0450 feels slightly more controllable, probably for the same reason.
-The 0450 has a less agressive tip; the drop point is more versatile than the 0460’s upswept persian.
-The 0450 has a snappier, more intuative flipping action than the 0460 (but the 0460 is still really good, especially now that it’s broken in).

Honestly, the racier 0460 is my dress-up carry. Once it’s in my pocket, however, it’s not uncommon for it to stay there a few extra days. On the other hand, I’m on record saying that if it was thinner behind the edge, the 0450 might be my be the unicorn of perfection for my EDC (I’ll stand by that—I’m a light EDC type of guy).

If you’ve handled them and they both have ergonomics that work for you, you’d probably be happy with either. I keep ‘em both around, but the 0450 is the one I’m thinking about picking up a spare copy.

Thank you for all the feedback. I have decided on the 0804cf over the 0452cf because i really like the looks and the flipper tab is not as sharp. As well as it is discontinued and their are only a few left, so I could sell it later. Thanks for all your help.

I had trouble deciding on a ZT once. ;) Can't go wrong with any of the listed models. I think you will love the 804, it's absolutely beautiful. Almost too pretty to use. I really like that stripped 804. You could use the crap out of it, then have it stripped making it look brand new again.

For those that have not held these models, even though the 450 & 452 look similar, the size difference in hand is quite significant. The 450 could be a great gentleman's carry. While the 452 if opened in public almost feels like whipping out a machete. Love the action of both.

Yes that stripped stonewashed 0804cf is how the knife should have been manufactured in the beginner. The all black 0804 is good too but I wish thete are not so many white letter on the blae.
