ZT 0454 just showed up!

Even though I received shipping notification I wasn't going to count those chickens until the UPS guy just dropped of a box from Tualitin. I just unboxed it, flipped it a few times and shot a few photos. Yup, it does exist! Serial #311 (out of 272? :) ) Had to photograph it with another duo-tone.

What a pretty knife. Can't wait for mine! It's coming on friday....... :(
 
I love the design, just everything made by ZT is too big and heavy for my needs. If they made that knife with a 3" blade, I'd be all over it.
 
Its only around 4 oz I think and not that wide. The 4 inch blade fills the handle so overall dont see a problem .
 
That's one wild looking knife! Love it, but not enough to empty my wallet.
ZTs design team and collab makers have done a fine job of trying to keep everyone happy. From huge folders (like the 0454) with enormous attitude , to sleek lil flippers (like the 0770CF) and everything in between.
Collaborating with the top makers, designing and implementing new tech, providing top-tier materials and impressive quality control, and having fantastic customer service will keep you on top of the game.
My ZT 0770CF has about a 3.5" cutting edge that just screams "SLICER", it's very lightweight and actually thinner than all but 2 of my one-handers, so combined with the deep clip, this thing is like an EDC dream. A/O, ELMAX, and gorgeous CF are just icing on the cake.
So there should be no more complaining about ZT only producing massive, heavy, sharpened pry-bars because they have clearly left that stigma in the dust.
I feel like I've been there from the beginning, watching them evolve and dominate in the production knife industry.
Sorry for the rant. I just love my ZTs and I am semi-patiently waiting for my 0562CF to brighten my week/month. Pre-orders are the only thing ZT needs to reconfigure. ;)

Congrats on the 0454! Nice pics, thanks for sharing them. How'd you like the action on it? Every 0454 I've handled flipped so well I couldn't get any of them to open partially. If the blade broke loose from the detent, it was fully opened and locked. Really amazing.
 
That a sweet blade. Thanks for the pics. Still waiting for the UPS/ground to come around the corner. Is it smooth like the 0562?

Fyi the 0770 has a 3.25 inch blade.

Anyway, congratulations on scoring an 0454. Enjoy it. It's a beaut.
