ZT 0550 or Spyderco PM2 for New EDC

I think the ZT has a higer "cool factor" right now, but it comes down to how you expect to use the knife, IMO. If you expect to be doing some prying, the ZT should be your choice. If you're looking for a pure cutting tool, the nod goes to the Para2 without question.

I own both and although I love the Para 2, I carry the 0550. The weight is not a factor for me and I love the feel of it in hand....the stout, solid framelock also assures me it can handle anything I throw at it, not that the Compression Lock isn't reliable as well. ;) The Para 2 has that full flat grind and is an excellent slicer, but the 0550 can slice just as well after I gave it a treatment on my Sharpmaker. If I prefer to carry light, the Para rides in pocket but the majority of the time the 0550 wins out.

The blue M390 Para 2 is awesome as well, but I keep that one put away and will bring it out on special occasions. I have yet to try out that steel but I've heard nothing but great reviews about it.

In short, this choice will come down to your own personal preference with weight being the real deciding factor, IMO. Whichever knife you decide on between these two, I assure you that you won't be disappointed. Like me, you will probably end up owning both....:D
