ZT 0560 Detent Issue?

I agree that light oil is the best, but to tell the truth I probably wouldn't get another ZT 560. The detente is a continuing problem with mine and I have my doubts about ZT being able to fix it. Nor am I sure it's fair to ask them to, since Hinderer won't fix a detente on their XM knives and those cost a good deal more than $300. I have ordered a ZT566 but there are three things that, to me, make that a better choice than the 560: the size (because it's better suited to EDC), the steel lock bar (because Ti bars wear too quickly for my taste and flipping habits), and the assisted opening (because it opens every time). I haven't had much luck having my Kai knives "fixed," but they do make good quality knives in general. My favorite knives for quality control are made at the Spyderco Taichung facility. The problem is, they only make one flipper, so far.

Yes, clean it out and leave it alone. I don't think putting graphite on every part is perfectly maximizing the smooth operation of the knife. Instead of looking for magical quick ways to placate your "I want it done now!" urges, just use it as a cutting tool and let it wear in as it's supposed to.

ok I did the above and its now better then ever it was cleaned before I put the graphite (pencil lead) in now I am wondering if the graphite did some good ????
either it did or it didn't (probably didn't ) but now I can concentrate on what a piece of art/engineering this knife is . Every thing about this knife just oozes quality well done kai / kershaw
