560 has better steel than the 301. Heck, the 550 has better steel than the 301. But for some reason, the 301 spends more time in my pocket and gets more use for the past few months than either of those other two. The 550 probably gets used second most of the three. The 560 is definitely third in my book, and spends most of its time in a drawer. To me, about the only thing it has really going for it is the steel. I like the ergonomics of the grip of the 301 better, I like the way the blade cuts on the 301 better, even though it is only S30V, I like the assisted opening of the 301 better, I like the weight of the 301 better. About the only thing that 301 doesn't have that I would prefer it did is a ball detent in the blade. Which isn't that big a deal to me, really.
Is the 560 becoming the flagship? Maybe. But if anyone doesn't have a 301, they are missing out, IMHO.
