ZT 0562 VS ZT 0562CF VS ZT 0393 VS Spyderco Shaman. Which to get?

You can swap between Teflon, phosphorus bronze washers and bearings. Just on the gen 6
oh thats really cool but im not in love with hinderers customer support so i dont want possibly have an issue then deal with hinderer customer support so gonna go with a zt hinderer if i get a hinderer

Can't comment on the Spyderco, out of the ZT's, what it boils down to is the style you prefer. The 562 is wider and fills the hand. The 393 is slimmer in both blade and handle. The blades are close to the same length. Of course there's the difference of the slabs. Personally, I like the G10 cover on the 393. The 562 has more options of changing the presentation slab. I've got a Ti slab from Midnight Sun Industries. Whitty at USA Made Blade has done some stunning anodizing on both knives.
The real answer is to get one of each so you don't beat yourself up wondering if the right choice was made.;)

i wish i was that rich but alas i am not because i am 13

My intention is not to derail the thread, but if you don’t mind a bit more info on this.... even if by PM message? Thanks!

Hinderer's customer support is second to none. They fixed my problem, tuned, cleaned my XM-18 and shipped it back no charge in 10 days. The knife came back without a mark on it from the work. (I've sent knives to other companies and had them come back marred up) It didn't need sharpening so that wasn't an issue.

Seeing how it's a 13yr old who already said he's not rich, I'd venture a guess he read online about someone's bad experience and came to the conclusion they suck based on that. But if you did a bit of digging you'd find there are people who have had issues with every company and many who have had great experiences with them.

Back on topic, I thought the shaman was nice and wanted one til I saw the price! What a rip off. Should be priced closer to the paramilitary knives. $110-$130ish. It's the same materials!! Your definitely going to get your money's worth with the ZT's. I also disagree with whoever above said the hinder knives are better than the ZT's. I have a 0550 3rd gen and its flawless. There's no way a knife could be made better than the exact one I have. Maybe I have an exceptional model but its smooth as oiled glass when opening. I can flick it open like I would a spyderco with my middle finger and the blade will fall shut freely when I open the lock. It also locks solid and is my only knife where I can't detect even the slightest bit of wiggle in any direction..

Anyways back on topic. Get a ZT. If you want a spyderco get a pm2, native 5 or a Manix and save some money.

Tough choice, I voted 393 tho, maybe cuz it’s new, but you can’t go wrong with either.

Go a bit extra and spring for an XM-18 gen 6. Since they’ve moved to the triway system they are absolutely much better than the ZT variants
not for almost double the price? ZT has kvt bearings CPM20CV and its lighter and cheaper.. i sold both my hinderers and kept my 0562cf and 0562BLK

Every single time I'm about to pull trigger on a gen 6 XM-18, I have to remind myself of these very same things.

To the OP, my vote is for the ZT 0562cf. Good luck. In your choice!

Value is in the eye of the beholder. ZT offers a ton of value much more than Spyderco & Benchmade but having owned both Hinderer and ZT there's something about a Hinderer in my hand that I enjoy much more. I run my Gen. 6 on PB Washers and I love the action I get.

im glad you like them ..i just couldn't justify the price .My ZT's are daily beaters and so were my hinderers ..my ZT's IMO do the job for almost half the price just as well (if not better) which is why i sold my hinderers ..as a retired cop and fireman i find hinderers to be like emersons.. you are buying into a cult almost.. like somehow owning one is somehow going to make the user better .. just my 2 cents.. i leave that stuff to the nutnfancy crowd

Not interested in any of these, although the 562CF was on my radar several times. I've settled on the Slysz Bowie after "much" consideration and trial of a whole bunch of these things.

I have been contemplating a ZT0562/0562CF v. Spyderco Shaman. Then the Tops/Buck Csar-t showed up in another thread. Is it in the same category as the ZT and Spyderco? I'm looking for a hard use folder with a ~0.15" thick blade.

Go with the ZT 0562cf way better steel than cpm154 (zt has cpm20cv) if i had to pick 1 knife from my entire 200 blade collection it's the ZT 0562 in 20cv steel

Interesting this thread popped back up as I ended up getting a Shaman and I have to say it's such a great knife!
