I am not normally one for coated blades, but I saw the black blade 0600 at bladehq and thought that it was rather striking. Just wondered what others though.

I'm waiting for a different finished handle without the 3d handles, DLC or satin blade I don't care!!! (DLC is sharp looking)

what variations are coming down the pipe?

I like ZT's DLC versions like 0550BLK, 0560BLK and especially 0777-M390BLK. The 0600BLK with the black blade and CF inlay should look nice.

The 0600 is a sweet knife, it carries easy, is built like a tank and the black blade is a nice touch.

Based on my budget, I had to pick either this one or the 0777. I'm glad I got this one. It's the closest I'll get to an RJ custom.

Anyone get their 0600BLK yet?

Also, if you happen to have both the stonewashed (0600) and DLC (0600BLK) versions a side by side picture. Appreciate it.

My 0600BLK won't get here until next week.

I'm a big fan of ZT's DLC coating.

The only thing about this is if you actually learn about coatings it is not a DLC coating as the knives would be far more expensive if it was a true DLC coating. Did some research after watching on of Jim Skelton's videos on this topic and he hit it right on the money. I believe it is similar to PVD or is a PVD coating which is cost way less. I do like the look of the black but I also like the original version. Not sure which I would go with but probably the satin.

I'm not going to pretend to know a ton on this topic but according to people much more knowledgeable on the subject than me: PVD is a process for applying coatings. DLC is the actual material applied.

I like Jim and I have known him for many may years but he doesn't always have his facts 100% straight.

No. Just, "No." Wait.. "No. Further research required. Try again. Thank you for playing. Have a nice day."
