zt 0600 feedback

It's very impressive looking. I'd like to handle one. There are so many knives I want right now...I thought I could make a list and get the ones I wanted...but the list is ever growing. I thought this would be an inexpensive hobby, but I could have purchased a car by now for what I've spent. Oh well

I love the look of the knife and it seems that most people have had good flipping action on their, but that is a production knife for you, you never know if yours is going to be great or if your going to get a lemon or if most of them are lemons and you might get lucky. Good observations, I might see if I can get my hands on one to just try out and see if I want to get one.

I love the 0600, and it is my current EDC. I don't find the weight and size to be a problem. The design is amazing (like many pieces that ZT has been producing lately). The action, lock-up, centering and detent were perfect on mine. However, I understand OP's comment about the detent - this is one concern I generally have with ZTs lately. I owned eight 0777M390 at the same time several months ago and the detent on each were all over the spectrum. In a few days, I will have my 3rd 0888, so we'll see how much the detent varies - so for on the two that I have, they seem sufficiently strong and equivalent to each other.

Mine is really nice ,perfect centering, excellent flipper, super sharp-used mine to debone some lamb dulled it a little but I was hitting bone, still cuts newsprint though.
cons is that it is a bit heavy, surprisingly I got used to it in my pocket,so overall an awesome knife.....nice if they would make a mini version,I would probably shell out another $340.

Btw I can't believe how many grails came out at once, brutal on the finances :sorrow:

I would love a 3.5" version with maybe less machining and no CF insert to keep the price down.

I am still waiting for my finances to get get situated so I can buy the 0600, hopefully in a couple months the price doesn't go through the roof.

I have a wonderful specimen.I edc my knife and like this model more than than any other ZT that I own. This production knife is approaching custom in the fit and finish on my particular knife. The machined pocket clip is better than any on the ZT production models. The flipping action is excellent for a knife of this size and far more efficient and smoother than my 0560 and 0560CBCF.It does not flip quite as fast but is as smooth as my 0801.The detent is perfect just like on my 0801.I have 100% confidence in this model in a hard use situation and the 3D machining and CF insert makes this knife stunning to my eyes.It has just the right amount of jimping for my tastes on a Ti knife. This is a very good design by RJ Martin and would like to see more of his designs in the ZT lineup.I do like the steel as I have used and like BG42 and consider it a quality stainless.I have no problem with larger folders and they have a place in my intended uses.I am glad I coughed up the dough for this one and will enjoy it for many years.

Best regards,
salmonkiller
