Zt 0620cf clone!

Please just buy from reputable dealers and put these types of people out of business!

Paying a few dollars extra for piece of mind, knowing it's real, is worth it. I can't believe people will do sketchy things to save a few bucks.

Not sure if it's just a coincidence, but from on the examples I've seen online, the lettering on the serial number text is in upper-case on the clones, "SER", and mixed-case on the real deal, "Ser". Without someone actually testing the metal though, there's probably no sure-fire way to determine real from fake, unfortunately. I've seen come great deals on the 620cf, even the 562, on that site, but then the ol' "if it seems too good to be true" adage kicks in, and I have to pass.

I know mine is not counterfeit (received it from a dealer in early Sept, 2014), and it is marked SER. Just FYI.

I have been so careful buying folders, have never yet been stuck with a fake, and this is by far and away the biggest and best reason why.

Wanna avoid buying a clone? Commission a one off from a custom knifemaker!

;)

Crap, just ordered one from a dealer with 100% positive feedback.... are the knives on the bay sold by initials "f.k.t." legit?

I'm thinking I'm good, just want to make sure. Any other ways to check authenticity besides seeing if gunblue will change the color of the blade?

Wasn't serialization implemented as a safeguard to the original's authenticity and a method to account for each, having been issued only 1 number per knife? So there should be only knife with that number per lot?

Guess, not so helpful when the number isn't tied to anyone in particular? Maybe there should be. Some sort of voluntary registration you can opt to enroll the knife in. When changed hand, option to transfer or remove off registration.

Or is the serialization being used in some other way, other than making a knife look more tactical, as if it mattered when it really doesn't? Just more decoration to add.

When in doubt, the knifemaker can be asked to verify.

Most counterfeits on ebay are purchased by sellers from the Chinese website and resold by people with lower feedback numbers. There's plenty of knife dealers on ebay, with very high feedback numbers and a high percentage of postive feedback that sell the real deal. Most of those will state they're authorized dealers. I don't find it hard to avoid counterfeits when buying from ebay.

This is amazing. Are they counterfeiting the G10 models as well? I have been on the fence about buying one of these.
