ZT 0777 M390 Poll: Stonewashed or DLC (Limited)?

I received my ZT0777 BLK today and I'm very impressed. This is my first KVT knife, so it's a little surprising how smooth it actually is. I do have to get used to keeping my middle finger off the lockbar to ensure it opens all of the way.

My only slight disappointment is that while the knife is sharp, it's not razor sharp like the Emersons that I own. Not a big deal since I can touch it up on my Wicked Edge. Does anyone happen to know the angle that ZT is using for the ZT0777?

Holy Sh...aving cream. I was watching that one, too. Was considering bidding, but when those last couple of bidders kicked in the afterburners, I was left sucking wind.

And you have 2???? I trade my farm for them. LOL

Well after doing the sharpie test on my kme it's a 24 degree angle so 48 degrees inclusive. Smokeater908 but a 36 degree inclusive edge on his so he had to have done some major re profiling.

My DLC didn't show up today either. That's 2 days past when it was supposed to be delivered. I'm getting nervous USPS lost it!!!!!:mad:

$2150!!!...I was contemplating putting my OG one up for auction. Figured I could get enough to pay for a DLC and a stonewashed 777 plus an 888. It was definitely a thought in my mind. And pharmagator is probably jacked. Saw he had one up for BIN $1200 OBO earlier today.
 
What did he have it listed as? I search them all the time and didn't see his listed. Did he sell it at $1200 ??
 
Idk...saw it then it was gone when I checked later. Don't know if he sold it or pulled it off. The completed listings take a day or so to show up now. Use to be immediate. We'll find out tomorrow I guess.

EDIT: It's under the completed listings. Sold for $1200.

Geez considering the 0777 that went for $2150, the one that went for $1200 doesn't sound bad by comparison. And to xICEMANx I hope your dlc 0777 shows up safe and sound.

I paid $1200.00 for the 0777 that I sold on evilbay for $1200... unexpectedly I had a couple of 'grail' custom knives come available... but the cash was low...

so the 0777 gave me a needed cash infusion...

I picked up a DLC M390 from HOB to fill the void...

I have 4 other original 0777s - probably let my kids fight over them in my will... (or use them to fund a nicer Nursing Home)

I rarely make money selling my knives... (however, I never make money on my other investments... I have lost a lot of money in the stock market)

so, now I buy what I want (both kids out of college and working) and my savings go into the sock drawer...

A fellow forumite bought the 0777 and I am glad it was one of us... sort of stays in the family...

and I got a couple of sweet deals on some custom knives... (and 0777s are definitely custom-knife quality!)

Using the sharpie method, a Wicked Edge and a digital angle cube, I found that my ZT0777 had a 23 degree angle on each side. All that's left now is to start using the knife to see how well M390 performs...

Seems right mine was 23-24.

I polished the factory edge on mine. Wouldn't call it sharpening though. Smokeeater908 on youtube used his in a cut test then sharpened it on his Wicked Edge.
 
Thanks for the angles for the wicked edge if I get brave I might use mine. Then that will be easy to touch it up again

Hang in there and hope for the best. Mine was supposed to arrive yesterday and last tracking point said it was still stuck in Dallas since Sep. 18th. Then, this morning it's showing that it's at my post office as of an hour ago.

Ya mine says the same, stuck in Dallas since the 18th. It hasn't updated to show it's at my local post office which concerns me.
 
Mine wasn't updated at all since Tuesday then Thursday it showed Tennessee...finally this morning it shows out for delivery in my city in CA. Hang in there...I think USPS tracking is having issues all the way around.

After telling us how he just didn't like his 0777, I inferred that perhaps he should sell it and get four of the 0777-M390. Well, it looks like he could have gotten five and some change!

To keep things in perspective. My 0551 & 0561 together were about what the new 0777m390's run. Both have ELMAX blades - the 561 has a flipper and KVT bb pivot. Either is more stout than the original 777 and it's linerless sides. Just trying to bring some perspective to the mix - heresy that it is to speak against any 777! JMHO.
