I have a problem on my 0777 that someone maybe able to help me with. First I noticed the that one of the little screw threads on pocket clip side was sticking out further than the rest to point that it was really rubbing against my hand. So I thought hell thats an easy fix Ill take screw out pop little thread thing out and throw in some blue thread lock. But I learned that screw was in there so tight Ive now stripped the screw! So does anyone have an extra 0777 handle screw or know of another model screw that will work. Also how can I get a stripped screw out of a knife with out doing damage to this model knife. Im all worked up now please help

You should have used a rubber band over the screw before putting for to it to keep it protected. A bit captain hindsight now I know. You may have to send it back to ZT.

I had no idea the little nut/ thread was even sticking out like it was since knife has been sitting in my safe. Its out so far it would fall out if not for screw holding it

I think I am going to send it in....never seen this problem when I got it. I have all the right tools and even used Kershaws T tool set to try and take screw out but not sure if its due to nut being out or what but the screw would move at all and I stripped it. A thing like this upsets me even though I know its something small this was my baby

Im worried they wont have the screw to replace I since its a discontinued model.

Worst case they send it back as is. Best case they fix it. I don't think they are custom screws so I assume they would have them or know where to get more.

You would think they would have some on hand....I cant put into words how upset I am about this! When I bought knife I worked a second full time job to be able to buy this knife and few others I wanted. I should have just left it in safe and in my mind it would still be perfect

It seemed to be such easy fix ive had those small nuts pop out before and never had problem fixing them. The screw was so tight I put a lot of strength behind it and it never moved and stripped it smh upsetting isn't the word

At least you got the satisfaction of stripping your own screw. When I got mine it came with a stripped screw from the factory. Mine also has the the threaded inserts sticking out. The one closest to the pivot is the worst.

- All 5 of the ZT0777 knives I've handled have the same "issue". The carbon fiber is thicker towards the clip and more contoured closer to the blade. Since the screws are all the same length, it protrudes slightly from the one closest to the handle.

Its the top nut close to the flipper when opened that sticks out very very far. I thought if I took screw out I could pop it back in but dam screw wouldn't move at all than stripped when I added pressure. And the nut isn't level part og it is in further which made me think I could get rest in further

What kind of bit did you use? It's much easier with a high quality bit like Wiha.

I used the bit made by the company.....I know there arw better ones out there but I used it because they cant tell me it my fault if something like this happens.

These are best photos showing how far thread insert sticks out I can get. Its just the one close to the pivot screw others as u can see are all the way in the holes. This is what lead to me stripping screw

As I mentioned before, that's exactly how every ZT0777 I've handled looks like. Take a look at the handles contours and you'll see why screws of the same size would stick out by different amounts.
