ZT 0808 anodizing question / issue

I just purchased a new ZT 0808 and want to have it anodized. I had a few offers from those who anodize to do the work for me but I opted to send (scales only) to a well known online anodizer who is supposedly does great work anodizing Ti. The gentlemen contacted me after receiving the scales saying he could not anodize the knife due to a small pin next to the offset channel (hole). He claims this small pin prevents to scale from being anodized.

Now a friend of mine had a local person anodize his 0808 and claims he had no such issue. Has anyone anodized a 0808 and experienced this or had this come up as preventing the scales from being anodized?
 
Bladeswelove on instagram has been anodizing a ton of 808s, and they all look wonderful. I don't think he should have an issue.
 
Is he talking about a component of the steel insert on the lockside? Curious as to which part specifically he's saying would cause an issue
