ZT 300 Non Coated Variants & Where Can I Find Them?

I love them all, I just cant figure out which one I love most. I dont know when I will be able to able to get a second 30X so I want this one to be perfect.
 
Very nice deal. I have to admit, the green scale of the 301 has been growing on me. Thanks for the heads up.

I asked Jake about having another done and I think he said $85 plus $20 shipped and insured or around that amount. But there was like a 6 month backlog and he seems even more busy now than he was in May or whenever I asked before Blade. Not a terrible price if you don't mind the wait.

I know of at least one "FrankenTAD" 0300. Years ago, I took a Carbon fiber TAD 0300 with black blade and swapped the scale with a TAD 0300 with the beadblast blade and green scale. I wish I kept that knife, but I sold it shortly thereafter, and it's out there somewhere.

You guys are awesome... Jimmer making a frankenTAD, Jim owning all the 300TADs, and Turk owning every single production 300, TAD 300, and USN 300.

Which 300, production or custom, is your all time favorite?.. And which is your favorite USER (probably production unless you use a custom version)?
 
I jumped on a 301 on a sale. I was iffy on the TS blade... AND the green scale. It is now my favorite knife, and a LOT of that is the TS blade. It works well with the green scale, too. To me, it is less an olive scale, more of a foliage color. Kinda subtle. And as much as I like stonewashed blades (have the stonewashed 200 and 350), I ALMOST like the TS better. I CERTAINLY do NOT like black blades. No offense to those who do, they just aren't for me.

Ive been trying to get a 302 or 303 from a friend, but will probably only be able to choose between a 300 or 301 because the other two are harder to find and because of price. But the 301 has been growing on me for a while, I was just hoping it isnt too green. I know that sounds weird but I was hoping it was more of a darker pale green than a forest green. I have been looking at pictures and I have really been liking it. It looks like it does match the blade nicely. I just wanted the 302 because I live in the desert and I like tan knives and guns, but the green has been growing on me. Im also a fan of stonewashed blades, and was hoping to find a non coated 30X in my price range, but the Tiger Striped blade is very sexy. I have a ZT 200 Black DLC and a ZT 350 that is Stone Washed so I think the Tiger Striped 30X will fit right in. If I end up having to choose between the 300 and 301 I will be buying the 301. I would say that your description is pretty close. I would not call it a forest green, that is for certain.
 
I'll second/third the color description. Foliage is almost gray with a bit of green. The 301 is most definitely green. I think the color will be just what you are looking for. If you like the 301 you should also check out the 121 if a fixed blade interests you at all.
 
I love the 121! I definitely want one, maybe if I ever get tired of my Custom Fixed blade Ill try and trade for one. I never really noticed that the 121 has the same green handle as the 301. lol. I was never much into fixed blades, well not like I am into folders. I guess with folders I like to have two at all times for different tasks, and with fixed blades I only ever need one. I was going to buy a 30X Friday night when I got home from work - after I put my check in the bank - but I had a family emergency so Im now going to wait until my next paycheck. I put a post on the trade forums to see if I can get one in trade, but I doubt that will work out, I dont have much to trade. So Ill probably end up buying one in a couple of weeks. I hate waiting though, Im always afraid when Im ready to finally buy one there wont be any left. :eek: lol.
