I was not a fan of Black on Black.

So Now I've been EDCing it and in general flicking it
annoying the family and then a POP.

Crap.
Just when I was warming up to it

It's dead. Cannot even carry it de-assisted becuase it has no detent to lock the blade.
The serial is in the 300's

Now well see how log KIA takes to send a replacement

I was really trying to like this knife and this happens.
Now I dont know

Call KAI and they'll send you extra torsion bars. Easy fix.

Sounds like yours is on old used one?

Didnt call.
I did the email thing.

It is a user.
Blade has scuffs on DLC. Had a small chip in the blade.
Was all gummed up with Food ,dried oil grease pocket junk.
Scale screws. 2 were stripped along with the clip screws.
But with the torsion bar,it shot out like a champ

KIA sent out the needed replacement parts and I did the rest.
Complete dissasembly and ultra sonic cleaned.

Nick is gone. Polished the edge. Shaving sharp.

As far as old Im sure it is and it was just normal metal
fatique.

But if I had a detent I most likely would not even of cared.
No dentent means I will not carry it.

I had a blade open in my pocket before and I got off lucky .
Ruined a pair of pants .

If you're really waiting on it from KIA you may be waiting awhile...:)

I know.
In a month or so it might end up as trade material.
I really tried to like.

It's KAI not KIA. Call them (1.800.325.2891) on Monday morning.

I have used the KAI warranty service (mostly email) and the parts are at my door in VA within 10 business days. They always send an email saying the parts are on the way as well. With torsion bars, the usually send out a few. It's an easy fix.

The early 0350's did not have a detent. They all do now. T-bars break especially if you play with them flipping them open a lot heating the bar and causing extra stress. I've been guilty of it myself. As Dave said they usually get the parts out to you within a week or two. I'd definitely recommend calling over email as it gives you instant conformation. Anyway, I hope you get it fixed.
The cerokote job looks pretty good.

I love all my 0350's, they aren't perfect & not for everyone. But what tool is? uXo2 you cerakoated the scales, how are they holding up?

I didn't know that they had detents now. That may actually goad me into getting a ZT. The 03xx are really the only production models of theirs that appeal to me but AO is a definite deal breaker. If I can de-assist it though...

Where'd you get it cerakoted for that cheap?! I apologize for any ignorance, I just didnt know there was a place you could get it done so cheap.

I plan on keeping my ZT 0350ts and will probably carry it from time to time but I would much rather EDC my Delica 4 or Sage 1.

ZT's are extremely well made but I'm on a huge Spyderco kick at the moment and the foreseeable future it seems.

Guys, it was a pun on KIA (the car company) because he misspelled KAI. Why so serious? :p

Its actually holding up quit well.
Only small area that sits deepest in my pocket have worn thru.
But considering it is bumping against metal it is expected because the same wear occured
on a set of aluminum scales from another knife I had.

A local shop did them for me.

His name is Wes.

I did have to tear the knife down and deliver scales only.

I'm sure KIA has some kind of torsion bar used in one of their parts, but I doubt it will fit the 350 :p

I have had Kershaw send me out quite a few parts, and you can get them to send a few torsion bars if you call and ask nicely. Unfortunately, it takes some time to get to central Indiana, but that is mostly because they usually take so bloody long to send. Shipping is 3-5 days, but I have had them take 3 weeks to get a few parts shipped.

Same thing happened to me when I got a Kershaw Kuro. I was flicking it, a lot, trying to get familiar with the flipper system and then all of a sudden "pop." I contacted Kershaw and they sent me a replacement torsion bar.

I just got a replacement torsion bar in a week from them. I have recieved torsion bars three times from them and none took longer than 10 days counting weekends and I live on other side of country.

KAI customer service has been top notch with me. Does not seem fair you are throwing the ZT under the bus when you went cheap and bought an old beat up user. I think the 350 is one of the best EDC knives made. I have had mine for 5 years and no problems. Tested CS from KAI on other older Kershaws and they have always been spot on! My suggestion is buy new and then judge the knife!
