ZT 550 or ZT 560? I can't decide

I just recently got my 0560. Its only two days old. I went to a local knife shop and handled both. From the short time I had with each one I ended up choosing the 0560. Like others have already mentioned I like the larger handle. It ergonomically feels better and the kvt bearings are insanely smooth. I didn't get a sticky lock that some have experienced so I'm completely happy with my purchase.

The deep carry pocket clip on the 0560 is a plus, but if you're saying the newer model 0550s have the same clip, then I guess that's also a non-factor.
Yes, the Gen 2 550 had the deep carry clip.

Because I think it's going to come down to the feel, the texture of the scales, and which one speaks to me more.
Get the 560, then. The stock g10 scale on the 550 is both visually unappealing and almost abrasive in feel/texture. There are a number of options for replacement scales, though.

The only problem I have with the 0560 is the thick blade. It's not a good slicer, nor does the thick tip excel at detail work.

But you might also want to check out the upcoming 0562. That will have a slicer grind.

I am curious about the 0562.

Only problem there is, I'm impatient. I think I'm ready for my next high quality EDC. I preordered one of those blackwash Cryo IIs quite a while ago and they still aren't out, so I'm not exactly sure when that 0562 will be coming out. Do you have any idea...?

The only thing I don't really care for on the 0560 are the screws for the pocket clip. I wish they were recessed. As they are they make it kind of hard to get the pocket clip fully seated in my pocket. Annoying.

Made it over to (local sporting goods store) today and held both.
I can say, the 0550 is a solid knife, very nice indeed.
But the 0560 is just a beast. I think I'm sold on the 0560.

That being said, I think I like the Blackwash version the best.

But.... I also found a site that still had some of the Super Blue Spyderco Stretches in stock, and I bit on that.
So I'll probably have to wait until next payday to pick up my Blackwash 0560, but I am getting one.

Before committing to the 0560 I'd recommend gripping it very tightly in your hand for about a minute and then trying it with the 0550.

I find the latter much more comfortable when muscling down (think hard cutting or a wet and slippery knife)

I'll be honest, I see this knife as more of a piece for the collection.
If I have some hard cutting to do, I have several other knives with 3"+ blades that I'd likely put into use before I ever use a $250 knife in that role.
Call me a pussy if you will, but I'm being honest. The ZT 0560 will probably spend most of it's life being sharpened, handled, fondled, flipped open, and admired by me.

Get the 560.
The 550 is the only knife I ever had that hurt
to open
and calloused my thumb.
Even after I did the detent fix. It still
Sucked.

You're not a vag. It's your knife and you can do whatever you want with it.
