Ok, So we all know the ZT smokes the gen 3 hinderers, but what about the new and improved gen 4? I have a gen 3 hinderer and love it, but from what I've seen on youtube the ZT is so smooth and easy to flip open, is the gen 4 gonna have the "ZT flipper" feel?

ZT smokes a Gen 3 HInderer...? Not so sure about that claim.
The ZT 0560 is a dedicated flipper. It has an extremely strong detent making the flipping action fire really hard. However you can't use the thumbstuds as a deployment method on the ZT.
The Gen 4 has a stonger detent than the gen 3's so the flipper should flip a little better. But its not going to fire like the ZT.

then having both ...there is no comparison. The 561 is way faster when using less effort, partly because of the detent and partly because of the bearing system

Really? Just did, and that almost seems faster than the flipper on my knife.

Well, they were not designed or meant to be used as a deployment method. But I'm sure if you try hard enough you can get it to work.

Actually, the stud is far enough away from the handle to be used as more than a bladestop. Other models not so much, but it is possible.
I own a few XM-18s, and it is my understanding that the major refinements were to the screw on the Ti side that holds the blade when the knife is closed. Sure, there are a few new grinds, but the knife is still the same thing. How does one beat the other when they are so different?

This may just be me, but I want a Hinderer for the reinforced spanto tip. To me, it's the one thing that really parts the XM-18 from its many competitors. Without that super strong tip I have no interest. The customs that I've seen with a bowie style or wharncliffe blade look really nice, but they don't look like an XM-18 to me. The slicer grind is good for some I guess, but I can carry a dozen other knives that will slice just as well or better than the XM-18 slicer. I have a XM-18 spanto because it is the only knife (that I know of) that offers such a grind. That's what the man had in mind when he made the knife and due to requests from customers he started doing different blade patterns and grinds.

The flipping action of the XM series will never be on par with the ZT056X series until Hinderer starts using some bearings in his pivot and offering a way stronger dentent.

I've had no problems using the thumbstuds to open my 0561, but I can see how some would have an issue with using the thumbstuds. I've put that knife in quite a few hands of non-knife guys and almost none of them can use the thumbstuds to open the knife. You have to fondle it for a while and get used to how it feels or you have to be very familiar with knives, flippers in particular.
