So my 0630 came in last night and I am just now getting a chance to sit down and compose my thoughts and opinions on this blade. In advance I am not the best at reviewing things so this will be a basic first opinion.

I have to say when I first saw this one I knew I would have to own one and after I opened the box it definitely does not disappoint. It is a beefy knife for sure, weighing in just over 6oz but it is a pleasure to carry and use. It fits my hand well in several grips (I wear large gloves). The fit/finish is excellent, with a perfectly centered blade, smooth opening from the wave or the disk, and a early solid lockup. Most factory ZT edges I have received have been shaving sharp when I got them and this one would easily pop hairs out of the box. So far my favorite of the ZT line has been the 550 but this one may just bump it from the top. I put it next to a few of my others that I have been carrying recently for some pics. Size wise it fits just in between the 15 and the 550 but the difference between both is minimal. Considering the weight it isnt as thick as either though as seen in the pics.

Great post, I appreciate the pics for size comparison... I am having trouble deciding between the 062 0and 0630 any input?

Nice score! I have a 0620cf, and I love it. Hoping for a cf version of the 0630. 😊

There are three differences between the two knives. One is the blade shape the 0620 has a tanto blade and the 0630 has the bowie. Two is the cutouts in the G10 handle which obviously are just for looks. And the third difference is blade steel the 0620 has Elmax in the G10 version, but of course you can upgrade to the carbon fiber version with M390 steel. While the 0630 has S35VN steel.

Really it all comes down to your preference of blade shape and blade steel because other than that the knives are virtually identical.

Honestly for me the blade shape was the deciding factor. Well I guess that and the fact I love the 550 in s35vn steel. All said the blade shape of the 620, regardless of steel/handle scales, is one I probably wont get. I am just not a huge fan of tanto blades aside from the CQC-15.

Awesome comparison pictures man I was too lazy to do any in my review so I'm sure some people will appreciate it.

I felt the same way about the 0550 I never thought any ZT would surpass it, but the 0630 this thing takes the cake!

Here's my review if you wanna check it out:

Thanks!

Also, good writeup. I found it shortly after I posted mine.

Thanks for sharing the pics, one insignificant difference I noticed was the steel lock-bar insert's screw is now uncoated. On every other ZT, it's been a matching black screw.

Nice collection! I'm digging the 630. I too am both an Emerson and ZT fan, so I've been thinking hard about this one. Thanks for sharing!!

Same here I really thought the 0620 was awesome when it came out, but I don't care much for tantos blades. As soon as I saw the 0630 was out I jumped on it.

Oddly enough it never registered about the screw being uncoated although I think I may have noticed it and passed it over. Subconscious maybe. Thanks for pointing that out haha. :D

Thanks bud! Havent seen much out there about em and hope the pics might be of some help to someone debating on this knife.

Oh you're definitely helping me want to go broke haha! I just don't know if the knife is heavy duty enough to defend me from my wife if she finds out I bought another knife :D

I hear ya on that. Secret to my success...make two purchases. The 630 and a new purse. The surprise makes for a great shield!:thumbup::D

ZT has put me in a real pickle with this one. I really like the 0620CF's blade steel and carbon fiber handle, but I prefer the blade shape of the 0630. However, I'm not really the type to own multiple of knives when they're not distinctly different (owned multiple SnG's, only carried one of them) so buying both isn't really a solution. Why you no CTS-204P version with CF Zero Tolerance?!

I would almost bet that ZT will release a 0630 with carbon fiber and M390.

Hm... Is the blade on the 630 5/32nds of an inch thick? The specs list it as .120 inches, but it looks thicker than that of the (mini?) Cqc-15, and the Bad Monkey in the picture.
