I have had both, and sold the 801. The 0095 is awesome.
With the 0095, you get a longer blade (3.625 vs 3.5 inches)
The blade is much better for slicing, dicing, penetrating and detail work. The spine is 0.12 inches thick, vs. 0.16 inches for the 801. The blade also has a much better distal taper out to the point, whereas the 801 has that bullnose geometry that makes penetrating and detail work more difficult.
While offering more blade space and length, the 0095 is lighter, 5.3 oz vs 5.8 oz.
The 0095 has a hollow ground blade, vs a flat ground blade on the 801, giving the 0095 still more advantage as a slicer.
The edge-shoulder width on my 0095 is 0.025 inches, not super thin but decent. I don't know what the edge width of the 801 is, but I'd guess it's thicker.
Both flip and handle with ease. Both are very well made. The 801 is probably better as a pry bar or for super heavy use, but the 0095 will cut circles around it.
Looks are in the eye of the beholder. Personally I like the 0095 a lot better. It's one of my favorite knives.
