ZT and your most abused folders.

Actually as long as you use it in the dark you're fine. You know, gotta keep it out of the sun or risk solar radiation destroying the heat treat on the blade...

Ive heard rumor that if you get it re-heattreated in the fires of Mordor that it might not chip out

You know it ;)

And while we're at it...

Damn!

I wouldn't really call it abuse, because I dont I use my 0561 stupidly with the intention of "testing" or destroying it. If I need a hard use knife that I'm going to put to work then the 0561 goes in my pocket...and not the sebenza or spydercos. I have no problem using my ZT with oily/greasy filthy gloves to cut unwanted tubing or bundles of wires from parts I'm striping from a car at the salvage yard. It sees a lot of cutting, dirt, and grime and still looks/works great, it's not abused. I don't pry or try to screw things with it thought...I have other tools for those jobs...but I do cut a lot of things with it. That's what it was built for.

I use it a lot, but you can't tell because of the stonewash. However, my habit of longboarding means I occasionally lose a fight with inertia and pavement:

Which, in that case, caused me to chip off part of my pelvis and experience the worst pain and swelling of my life. However, I was most upset that this happened:

Because THAT doesn't heal over time :(

Not that the 0801 was the first casualty:

I've used the blur to pry up some roof tiles and by the way if anyone has an idea of what'll take roofing tar off a blade I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've pryed the top of a car door open with the ZT so I could stick a rod in to unlock the door. The blade and tip are in serious need of a touch up on the ZT.

I've always thought that.
I'll heal, but my car/motorcycle/gun/knife, wont

I wouldn't say abused but these all get carried and used. The 0801 gets used the most. Yes I know there are Kershaws in the pic. :)

Jealous! I've been really wanting to get my hands on the Tyrade and the 777. I love my Tilt.

Question.. what does the DLC consist of and what would you have to do to it to actually scratch it. My friend asked to borrow my knife the other day and without hesitation I handed my 0550blk over to him.. He walked behind his washing machine and cut off a metal bracket and scraped the side of the knife against a brass fitting. When he handed it back i saw some serious brass colored scratches on the side of the blade and i almost $hit my pants. But, after a little CLP and some elbow grease, the blade is good as new. What is this stuff?

Basically its just Carbon, hard as hell carbon. Bear in mind diamonds are also carbon

I got my 0300 LNIB; it's been used a lot since it arrived in my hands... This pic shows my attempt at cutting two replacement snowblower paddles from an old tire in one shot, the old paddle is on the left and was used as a template. Smooth sailing until I hit the belt by accident LOL.:D

This knife has split up section of pressure treated 2" X 12" lumber into match sticks and the lockup is still early and crazy solid.:thumbup::thumbup:

I did grind a penetrator tip (LOL!) on the blade and it can been seen as a reflection in the picture due to my incredible photography skills... :foot:
