ZT Camp (with surprise dog appearance)

^

Thank you for sharing this very awesome, very uplifting story with pictures, Stabman. Every precious second that we're allowed to share with loved ones, is truly a gift. This is definitely one of my all time favorite thread's!

Glad you like it. :)
Definitely important to spend time with those we care about whenever possible, and certain activities/locations make those memories even better.

Great story and pics but I'm mentally spinning my wheels on "reusable zip ties"???? Is that just sarcasm? How are these reusable?

They have a little "finger" tab thing that sticks up, so you can press it and take the zip-tie off to use it again. :)
They are a great invention, that's for sure.
I need to pick some up.
They've been really cool for quickly setting up a tarp in recent outings, and sure proved their strength when lashing the table together.

Great pictures! And it sounds like it was a lot of fun. That is a lot of cutlery you packed along. Did you just load all those up in your backpacks?

A lot was in the packs.
I had the ZT 0561 and 0804CF in my front pockets, and the ZT 0102 was on a shoulder strap.
The Cold Steel XL Espada was in my dad's pocket, I think the Benchmade was in his belt pouch/sheath, and the ZT 0551 was in my brother's pocket.

If I were you, Stab, I would start pitching reality show ideas, to both U.S. & Canadian production companies.

They could drop you off in different remote, inhospitable regions of Canada; with just you, your knives, & a few Made In Canada zip ties, (and a supporting filming cast). You could kind of be like the Canadian version of, Bear Grylls! :D

And if your really successful, maybe someday, they just might start manufacturing really cool knives with super steels (in your name), just like they did for Bear! ;)

Think big!

I wouldn't be against the idea. :D

Good stuff Stabby - it was a fun read.

Thanks for taking time to share the event with us.

As to the Cold Steel - a friend of mine bought the smaller model. he came to my desk one day with one of those "s**t eating grins", and I asked what was up.

He pulled that folded machete out of his pocket - wow!

I have to get one of those some day just for the shock value.

best

The Espada series in Large and Extra Large is great for those Crocodile Dundee moments..."THIS is a knife!" :D
With a different blade grind, it wouldn't be a bad woods tool either.

What did get a lot of use by my dad was the saw my brother bought him.
Forgot to get the saw in the assembled blades picture.

Great pics, love tha camp.

It was a good looking dog.
What those pics don't show is how massive the head was!

And it is mostly your fault stabby. Damn you.

Heh, guilty as charged. :D

Great pics, looks like you guys had fun.
Thanks for sharing!

Really was a lot of fun.
