ZT Fans

When I started collecting the speedsafe knives, I couldn't understand why so many folks passionately prefered unassisted knives because I was so pleased with the Speedsafe openers. Then I bought the humble Kershaw Strobe. The flipping action was so addictive. Since then I have collected unassisted knives exclusively and I fully understand why so many swear by them. My ZT0562CF is amazingly smooth and crazy fast and has the least friction of all my flippers. My ZT0450 is still the fastest, followed closely by my Strobe and then the ZT0808

On my ZT0452CF I polished up the lockbar so that any titanium and steel that touches the side of the blade is as smooth as glass. No more grindy noises when the detent ball falls off the blade. I also willfully broke in the detent so that it is very easy to deploy and close even if theres a bit of pressure on the lockbar. I feel that the smoothness of my ZT0452 is brag worthy. I can open it using pushbutton action, even with my fingertips on the lockbar.

Ditto to you silvers, nice collection! Same question as to EyeDog, if you could only keep one which would it be ?

For me out of all the pictured above (and I have most of them) it would be the 562CF

ZT Sheath Carry? Do you ever use a sheath to carry your ZT. Here's a few of mine.

Left to right.
1. 801
2. 450 in cross draw sheath
3. 560 in Kydex neck sheath
4. 808
5. 770

What about you?

I have carried my ZT0300BW in a Leatherman Surge Cordura Sheath for stealth. For some reason people are less intimidated by Leatherman's than ZTs. I have carried my Knockouts in a flat non-descript cordura sheath (also from a Leatherman). The Knockout is so thin that it disappears under a tshirt in the flat nylon sheath on my belt.

Funny enough I use a plastic blade guard from a $20 (As Seen on TV) Ceramic kitchen knife on my Diskin Hunter. The Diskin hunter comes with the most modest and cheap leather sheath that makes it twice as thick to carry in a pack.

As the owner of a collection of knives, I cannot easily answer. I suppose it depends on the circumstances. If I needed the money, I'd keep the Strobe. If I was equipping a group of strangers trapped in a gas station convenience store to help me repel an incoming assault of hyper intelligent primates, I'd keep the Diskin Hunter. If I needed to smuggle one into a Mexican prison in a body cavity, it would be the ZT0450 w/o the belt clip, of course .

Here are my current ZT Hinderer's, I've got to say it's not in the pic but I've been carrying the 0630 and love it more every day. Sorry about the slight blur not sure what happened.
