Good day. I recently got back into knife collecting and so I bought a ZT flipper off fleabay, I know I know. It gets worse because I bought the knife from Israel. I have no idea if this is a real I'm starting to think that it's not because I can't find a model number or the blade steel anywhere on the knife.

This was going to be my first ZT knife, but now I'm just not sure any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Yes, it is fake. :(

Lots of things wrong with it, including the absence of the hex-nut pivot, the "TM" in the ZT logo, the handle screws being too small (and too few in number), the lack of tip-up clip options, etc.

Just pull up photos of it on a dealer site and you'll spot differences right away. Here's a BF-supporting dealer's listing for the real thing.

Is it supposed to be an 0200?

I've got one and it's not the same. The differences are in the details. Just Google of pic of a "real" 0200 online and compare them.

You'll see the differences immediately.

You can still return it, if it's not "as described" under EB's buyer guarantee protection program even if the seller says that s/he won't accept returns. I've done it and it works.

File a return/refund claim ASAP!!

I still don't get why people risk buying off FleaBay.

If you’re attentive to details, it can be a good place to get things. I’ve bought and sold a large number of knives via that auction site, and I’ve only been sent a fake twice. (ZT0700 and something else that slips my mind)

Paypal’s buyer protection and the auction site’s own policies mean you will not pay a single penny if the item is not as described. That said, the sheer number of fake knives means a casual or inattentive buyer can very easily get burned.

Edit: One habit I’ve gained that is specific to that site is that I 100% absolutely refuse to buy anything that is listed with stock photos. If it’s not a picture of the very item I would be getting, I don’t trust it unless the seller is a large retailer with a spotless history. Check feedback every time.

Yeah, I've bought quite a few things off fleabay too but why bother when you can get something from an authorized retailer where you never have to worry about a fake? I've bought hundreds of knives from dealers both online and brick and mortar and have never been sent a fake!

To each their own.
