Zt Flipper. Fake?

Yeah, I've bought quite a few things off fleabay too but why bother when you can get something from an authorized retailer where you never have to worry about a fake? I've bought hundreds of knives from dealers both online and brick and mortar and have never been sent a fake!

To each their own.

Because of deals. Plain and simple. I’ve gotten things for 60%+ off just because they were out of the box, or they simply didn’t know the value / just wanted to move it quickly. If 5 minutes of checking to be absolutely sure saves me $50, yeah, it’s a good use of my time.

Ebay is one of my favorite sites out there and its get a bad rap here for no reason.

Pay attention, check feedback, read the description, and you'll be fine. Almost every single item on there is covered by the buyer protection, so there really isnt anything to worry about.

I'm a collector of a lot of things, not just knives, and I buy things on eBay because that's where I can find what I want/need, which is NOT limited to currently available items that are NOT available at online or rock/mortar retailers.

I've spent ten's of thousands of dollars on things on eBay, including but not limited to knives and I've had very few problems. When I did have a problem the seller and/or eBay always resolved the problem to my satisfaction.

For currently available retail items, including knives, I will do a price check all of the usual online sites for the item and will usually choose the cheapest site to buy that item. If the price is a push, give or take a few $'s, I'll almost always buy from the retailer and, even if it costs more than that, I may buy from Amazon because they offer can offer me 1-2 day delivery as a Prime member, if I'm in a rush to get the item.

It's a "free market" and a sensible buyer will check every source of an item they want to get the best price and terms that they can. Many of the best deals can be found on eBay and eBay's Buyer Protection policies make it safe to buy anything there.

Doesn't mean you can't have problems but proper examination of what is being sold from the photos/description and vetting of the seller before you buy is key to avoiding any such problems. If in doubt, you can message the seller to ask about the item and not buy it if there is the is an unsatisfactory response or no response at all, which is the same thing.

It doesn't seem that the OP did any of these things in this case but because of eBay's Buyer Protection policies he still should be able to get his $ back.

On eBay , it's best to buy from a seller with an established very positive record . They have a valued reputation and will seriously strive to please you to receive a good feedback review .

Took some considerable doing, but I actually got a free knife worthy ~$100 out of one dispute and a free extra $180 katana from another !:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Stop trying to save 20 to 50 dollars or get some used pos, buy new from a reputable dealer or off the fourm.
20-50 bucks is a pretty significant amount. I dont buy many knives off of Ebay, but there are definitely times where its preferable. I can use paypal on there too.

Plus a lot of dealers just flat out have a storefront on ebay. I've bought from atlantic knife a few times through ebay.

eBay is not bad if you pay attention.....
Those last 4 words throw most people off, or at least it seems that way.

Ebay is great for buying old used vintage stuff but I've personally never seen a deal on a new model knife that I couldn't get somewhere else for a similar price with more peace of mind. I don't mind paying a little more but if you know when and where too look the large online retailers have good sales.

That said I just found and ordered my son an old Boy Scout knife that I will gift to him at his next rank up along with a new a Buck Scouts engraved Vantage, a little classic and modern gift.

My point is we normally see guys trying to penny pinch or the other extreme getting a deal they know is too good to be true 0562 for 1/3 retail.

As said above, some people just dont pay attention. An expensive ZT being a third of the price should throw up an immediate red flag for most people. Ebay is much more useful for other things i collect, such as books and video games. Knives are generally hit or miss, but there is some neat stuff, like the anodized ZT's you can find a lot of.

Nonsense. Tons of great deals on new, legit knives on eBay.
I’ve bought a bunch and sold a bunch on there.
Tons of deals on here too.
Not rocket science - just have to know exactly what and who you’re looking for.

I still don't get why people risk buying off FleaBay.

You can find great deals, you just have to be careful. I've gotten my 0562cf, 0566cf, and 0470 from the bay, also my PM2. Got my 0770cf from Amazon. All authentic. Find good sellers with good return policies, and use eBay buyer protection if you really need to.

If you find a deal, but they show only stock photos? Pass. China seller? Hard pass. I have seen some good deals, and the knives look authentic, but they are so dirty and abused I wouldn't touch them. I don't mind used stuff, my 0562cf was used, but the knife was clean, just needed some work on the edge, and the tip was rounded.

Be smart, do the research, you should be fine.
