Put in a solid 80 hours this week, so looking to finally pull the trigger on a ZT. Weight isn't a problem for me either. So far I'm interested in a ZT 0801Ti, 0562CF, 0900, 0909, 0770, 0450, and 0808. Just. General EDC and work knife. As for ergos, the most comfortable knife I've held so far has been the spyderco manix 2 g10.

Which ZTs have been your favorite?

I’ve had the 770 and the 808, can’t go wrong with either. The 770 s assisted and 808 is manual, I prefer the 808.

Great choices. 0562 is my pick.

But honestly between my manix and 0562, I carry the manix more.

The manix 2 fit me perfectly, and I wear an XL width glove.
Out of those choices, the 770cfM4 or the 562cf would be the ones I went with.

The 562 is heavier, a bit longer in blade length, and runs on bearings.

The 770cfM4 is lighter, slimmer, comes with a Fantastic steel, but it's assisted.
- Mine De-assisted just fine and flips with a push-button technique smoothly, but some do not, and require the spring to work correctly.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the carbon fiber and M4, I would suggest the 562 hands down. But due to cf/M4 being an option, I can't suggest the "normal" 770s, since they aren't even on my radar.

Well, I'm not a fan of metal handled knives, so I narrowed your list down easily. It's between the 707CF and 562CF for me. I have a big hand, so I'd go 562. I also like the blade shape of the 562 over the 707. I own a 350 and 200. Either way, you can't wrong, ZT makes a great knife. Good luck.

The 562cf is a great choice. It is going to depend on what size you want for edc. I carry a 350 for work. The 0562 is my weekend or after work carry. Sometimes I'll bring out the 450 when I want something smaller. I have carried 560 or 300 but more so when camping or yard work.

How come? Because I've also been looking for a manix but figured the 0562 was superior for some reason...

I have the carbon fiber with cts204p. Honestly I can't tell much a difference between it and elmax unless we pull out carboard and see how many feet we can cut. I got a good deal on it else I would have went with the g10 handle. I prefer g10 over carbon fiber. I think either steel will be good.

Right now, I'm using a ZT0452CF and the 0095 in my rotation.

How does 204p compare to CPM 20CV?

The 0562CF would definitely be my pick. Easily my favorite ZT.

And the 204P and 20CV perform virtually indistinguishably by all reports I've heard. At least from ZT. I'd be happy with either.

I don't have anything in 20cv. Their not very different composition wise. On another note I have de-assisted my 566 and its smooth. If you're looking for something smaller but similar shape.

I'd have to pick between the 562 and the 909. I actually prefer the 909 but being honest the 562 is a bit more comfortable for extended use ... or the 566 basically the 562's little brother just slightly smaller and assisted ... for me that blade shape on the 909 serves me just a little better for my needs.

I've never had much issue with any of ZT's steel and unless I'm just trying to push and test them I don't find enough difference to worry about which steel ... just a light touch up after use keeps them good to go.

If I did go with the 0562, which steel should I go with?

Elmax is a great steel (which is what ZT0562 uses) but many people think 204p/20cv (which is what ZT0562cf uses) is better than Elmax. Plus cf vs g10 handle, you are looking at $40 price difference. Oh BTW, ZT0562 blade is stonewashed while ZT0562cf is satin.

I have both and like both, though if I can keep only one, it would be 0562cf.

I pulled the trigger on the 0562 CF in CPM 20CV. I will post pictures and give you all an update! Thanks!

You won't regret it. It's a great knife!

When it comes to ZT, my default choice for EDC is still my 0350.
I like the ergonomics and versatility of this package.

My favorite is the 0630. I don't understand ZT doesn't offer more manual-no bearing-no flipper knives. They are great. The ergos on the 0630 are great

When it comes to flipping action the 0801 is my yardstick. I have a black and a blackwash versions with Elmax steel.
They are great but they carry heavy... maybe due to the design since the 0350 and 0630 are heavy too but I have a different feeling with them

The 0550 and 0562 are great but they have their flaws. The 0550 is wonderful but the locking side is way too thick. It will have been perfect with a locking side like the one of the 0562
The 0562 is great but I am not a fan of the grind... what a poor slicer:(

the 0450 are great EDC and IMO very similar to what the Benchmade 940 series offers. A little bit on the gentleman side but very capable and many options available

The 0909 and 0804 are very good if you look for something long and heavy :)
I think the 0909 is a better choice as a workhorse. Not that the 0804 is not capable but the price will give less regrets abusing it :)

I don't have a 0456 but it is very appealing if you don't mind the weight for the size

Their is so many good options at ZT , each Ines will have their spécificités and it will depend on you to decide which ones fits you better

My first ZT was a 0350 and it has influenced me. I like the robust and heavy feel of knives with a bit of tactical to it.
You may built a different experience and enjoy the lighter more gentleman-ish designs which are just as good (just different)
