ZT & Rick Hinderer - Pay Attention - (0566) Ti/Bearings

Modifying MonkeyEdge's diagram (hope they don't mind!)
Here's where the 0566 falls in the size and handle profile lineup (removed the MP-1 which is actually longer then the Jurassic)

Dear Zero Tolerance and Rick Hinderer,
if you're listening, PLEASE make a Ti-frame 0566 on bearings (non-assisted).

You can make an all-Ti version (hollowed out scale)
You can make a Ti/CF version
You can make a Ti/G10 version
You can make an all-DLC version
You can make a White CF version
You can make a 20CV version
You can make an M390 version
You can make an S35VN version
You can even make a Glow CF version
Make 'em all on KVT bearings in the ~4.4oz-4.6oz

^^^ I will buy at least one of each. And some for backups.

PLEASE!!!!

And Rick, please make a Tri-way XM-18 3.25". I'll buy a bunch of those.

There. All will be well and you'll make gobs and gobs of cash! Just watch.

How about the 0470? It's on kvt bearings, with Ti/cf and it's barely a bit longer with 3.4" blade... just curious why you wouldn't go that route?
I really like the look of it... lol, these threads are insidious!

I have an 0470 - great knife!
Kinda apples/oranges to a Hinderer<>ZT knife though.

1. There can never be too many Hinderer variations. :D
2. You should try the 0470 if you like the Concierge so much. It's only slightly larger, but much lighter and built like a brick with good steel. Great knife - one of Sinkevich's best.

I like my 0470, but it doesn't have the comfy rounded handle feel of the concierge. The concierge handle feels like a smaller version of my favorite Sinkevich-designed ZT which also has a rounded handle, the one I'm carrying today, incidentally:

ZT now uses hardware that is less practical(one of the reasons I prefer 0560>0562). I think producing a knife like the OP suggested, if it used the same hardware the original 0566 used, it would be the best knife ZT had made in years. Their are so many companies in the current market that target the collector/edc market. ZT has become just another company in an ever increasingly crowded market, instead of sticking to their niche market.

Well said Gideons, I know we both comment in a lot of these ZT 560/2, 566 threads and your post is spot on. The 566 in OP's description would be a perfect EDC knife. I have all flavors of ZT and some other brands but I always go back to the 562 elmax, or the 566 de-assisted.

ZT left a lot on the table regarding the 566, so much potential for that knife. ITs the best looking knife IMO that they make. I would buy multiples of that knife in various flavors, as I am sure other people would as well.

Thanks Whitty for doing that, keep us posted if you get any feedback.

I agree. I’ve been saying it for years that if they made a ti/kvt/internally milled out 0566 I’d be all over it. The 0566 just hits the sweet spot with so many but is lacking in more of the “premium” things ZT does.

As much as I like DLC and CF, I kinda wish it had the same fully contoured G10 scale as the 0452G10.
G-10 would be nice on a production model too. My 0452g10s are my 2 favorite knives in my collection...my next “grail” knife would be a 0452CFM390BLU. They’re just so expensive and hard to find in new condition, but someday....lol
Anyhow, I’m all for ZT making new variants of the 566, great little knife

Yeah, I have to admit, I probably carry my 0566 more than my 0562, so I'd be in for a Ti 0566 with the KVT, and no assist.

My dream ZT has been a 0350 tigerstripe titanium framelock with 3d machined scales non assisted. What if we got a triple collaboration: ZT, Ken Onion, and Hinderer?

You get the Ken Onion recurve with Hinderer spanto, and ZT machining. Spicy!:cool:
