I just got this knife 5 days ago. I made it my goal to EDC the knife for a month straight. So far, all is good. No crazy looks, no cops, pretty much normal.

You do what you want to do. I don't see it being a problem, until an officer gets bored.

Hate to see some one charged because they wanted to carry a nice knife. Especially if you have a felony convictuion? In my state the prohibits one from caryingor possessing or being in control of any dangerous weapon, and it is not specific to guns. Just a thought.

 More people should be EDCing belt knives.

I am sure you know how to deal with cops, they can't stop or search you if you aren't breaking any laws, and most sheeple are so clueless they won't even notice.

It's good you know your rights and let all know it on youtube. I didn't know my rights and now I'm minus over $4,000 worth of property.
Guess that's what I get for moving to the land of the cactus huggers.
Nice knife... I want one.

me - no criminal tendencies, record or intent

I love my ZT bayonet but for even woods based EDC I had to change out the grips as they were very hard on the hands for even the simplest of chopping or hacking and I replaced the guard with a new stainless one with the top hole end gone. it allowed the knife to be gripped closer for fine cutting tasks. This made the tool much more useable and still allowed full function as a bayonet. Its out getting a custom sheath made for it because again the factory sheath was just not practical in its design to try and use every day due to balance and fit issues. It works fine for storing the bayonet when its not mounted to your weapon though. The shining star that made all the effort I put in this knife worth it is the blade. Its one of the best beefiest blades you can get for anywhere near the cost. Even the coating while marking up in use keeps it in great shape even in harsh weather. I also add a bit of stick to itself silicon tape to the weapon attachment socket as again it will make hamburger of your hands. It comes off in a second and leaves no residue to foul your AR. As a dual purpose EDC and bayonet its a great tool if you care to tune it up. However out of the box as an EDC tool I think it may be a bit silly and at best impractical:)

Very cool CM, I should get one and edc it for a month in the Chicago burbs. I bet the soccer moms would S#$# themselves. Let us know your thoughts when the month is up:thumbup:

I think the lack of reaction from the public might ever so slightly be in part due to "Sons of Anarchy" where all of the characters (legally) carry 7"+ fixed blades on their belts. The show is really popular, and it portrays scary, tattooed, knife wielding men to actually be the good guys. I had a big biker guy come into my work wearing a large fixed blade on his belt (which is illegal here) and he was all decked out in Sons of Anarchy stuff.

I'd love to see pics.

Today I'll be doing some slash/slash/stab/slash drills on a tree in the front yard. I'll post pics.

What the heck happened!?!? Did they confiscate your whole collection?
My sister, who is programmed by the media to think that anyone with a knife or a gun is psychotic, called the cops to check on me, even though I have never threatened anyone in any way... EVER. Thinking I could trust them, I opened my gun safe to show that everything was legal and safe and they simply took all my shit. I was able to keep the knives, since I pointed out that I have hundreds of other razor sharp implements (chisels, plane irons, general woodworking cutting tools), 'cept a BM 710 in M390 mysteriously disappeared that night. They couldn't take away my work tools (which have FAR greater 'martial' potential than any of my knives) and make it look legit. California DOJ wanted me to pay to have them consider whether I'd be able to get my stuff back... no deal.
They even stole my RWS pellet gun. A fucking PELLET gun!
I was in the mountains not the city... a PELLET gun?
I'd long heard rumors of how the cops had sticky fingers with other peoples property but never believed it until it happened to me.
I remember going down to pick up my guns and the evidence/property cop told me that you never want anything to be taken by the cops in California. Good luck getting it back.
Who do the cops side with - hysterical woman making baseless accusations (ZERO evidence to suggest I was up to no good) or a mellow rational peace freak that likes tools?
Lesson learned. I now know my rights and encourage everybody I can to learn theirs.
There is always two sides to every story, I'm sure many will think I must have asked for this.
I didn't. I got robbed.

Lesson learned...

Dude, that blows. I've learned some hard lessons with cops but I've always had any "legal" knives returned.

Well, in the future if anything bad happens, get the CGF lawyers on your case.

I found a better thigh strap so I re-wrapped the 550 and stuck an emergency Bic in for emergency use.
