I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem. I purchased an 0300 for duty carry (police duty) and after a foot chase my pocket clip and screws were missing. Thankfully the knife was still in my pocket but examining it it seems as though the clip screws has stripped out the G-10 and just fell out. Just curious if I'm alone on this.

Not normal. There is a steel liner behind the G10.If you contact Kershaw they may send you a new liner or ask that you send it in to be fixed.

I've emailed them and all I have to do is get my hands on a printer and write up a warranty request and they said to send it in. I was just curious. Other than that its been a best friend.

I would contact Kershaw for a new clip and this time use loctite.

A clip has never fallen off but I had a few get loose. Loctite usually stops it.

I have pocket clips come loose before. The G10 material doesn't seem to want to hold the thread all that well. I just use some loctite and all has been well.

I may do that. That would sure be easier than sending it in and waiting the advised 4-6 weeks for processing.

The email should be sufficient. The screws should reach into the steel liner on the G10 side, loctite is a good solution.

I've noticed that the screw holes in the Ti side of the frame go all the way though but the holes in the G-10 side do not. Is that correct? I would think all the holes would match.

I don't know about all 0301's but mine does not go all the way through on the g10 side. I guess I never noticed. The g10 side is aprox 1 mm thicker though, could explain it. My clip is in the ti side, and even with loctite it loosens, I think it is the weight of the knife on the 2 screw clip. Just a thought.

I just checked the 0301 in my pocket and the screw holes on the G-10 side do not go through the liner at either end. I never noticed that before, but I use the TI side for my clip. You should have no problem getting ZT to shoot you out a new clip and screws, but that doesn't help if it actually stripped the holes in the G-10. Perhaps a new scale as well?

It doesn't really solve your immediate problem, but I'd switch the clip over to the TI side and running it on my strong side. For weapon retention, I'd recommend a Ka-Bar TDI on the weak side. It's quicker and easier to deploy with your off hand and made specifically for that purpose. You'd still have the 0300 with a solidly mounted clip for utility and last-ditch back-up.

You will need longer screws in order to mount the 0301 for LH carry. Please be sure to address this in the email to warranty. You will need the 0200 pocket clip w/ screws set.

Let us know how it goes. :)

Hello again. I just got my packages from ZT today. Not only did they send me a new clip and screws but they sent me THREE envelopes. Two of which had a new clip, frame screws, clip screws, brass bushings, and a torsion bar for the speed safe. and the third envelop had the same but with a SS bead blasted clip. New clip is on with some blue goo to keep it in place and my ZT is going on patrol with me again. Thanks for the help everyone.
