I've got a 0452CF on the way, and I already know the dinky pocket clip has got to go! A little searching and I see that a similar styled but larger clip from another ZT model will fit, which would fix the proportion issue with the stocker. However, it's still a deep carry clip, which I hate, especially on such a large knife!

I found two different styles of titanium "shallow carry" clip from a seller on the 'bay, but I'd like to see what everyone else has got. Pictures please! :)

You can put one of the larger deep carry clips (like from the 0566) on the 0452CF. I prefer the deep carry clip, so I haven't tried swapping it out on mine.

Here's a pic that shows the 0452CF with the standard shorter clip (left) and a larger one from the 0566 (right).

The clip is admittedly one of the biggest reasons I haven't bought a 0452 yet.

I find the factory clip to be a wart on an otherwise stunning knife. That clip looks fine on some of the more industrial/tank like knives that ZT makes, but on a curvy, sexy thing like the 0452 it looks hideous in my opinion.

It needs a machined clip like the 0454. When someone makes one like that available aftermarket, I might finally jump on one.

This is the exact reason I haven't bought this knife yet. Eventually someone will start making after market machined clips.

I love the clip on the 0452. The same clip is on the 0770, and I had that knife first. I liked the clip so much that it is one of the big reasons I got the 0452 over other models. I don't care about the appearance of the clip. It carries well, I never bang it against stuff like I seem to with larger clips. I also never seem to lose these knives to seatbelts or other similar things.

Well if anyone is still interested, I ended up ordering a pocket clip from Gnoleb's store (MXG Gear). I went with the basic stamped-style clip as I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money on the 3D machined version, although it looks nice. I just got it, so I don't have any real pocket time, but so far I like it much better than the tiny stock clip. Not only is it more proportional to the 0452, but it sits about 1/2" higher which should help getting the knife out without having to really dig in my pocket like with the deep carry clip. Will report back again after some carry time.

Nice. I dig it! Looks similar to the Emerson clip set up. I had a problem with The knife bottoming out in my pocket so the non deep carry helped a ton.

You know, I thought it looked silly at first when I got my 452 in. But I gave it a chance and decided I really like it. In my jeans, it holds the knife just as secure as any other knife I EDC. But the biggest thing is that it's so small, it just disappears and doesn't scream "Hey everyone I've got a huge blade here". Very inconspicuous. And being very deep seating on a rather narrow frame end, it's really is almost invisible.

Just my $0.02. I say give it a chance. You can always order the clip later if you really don't like it. Now if it's all about how it looks on the shelf, by all means, pimp it up. But it really does carry great.

I think that looks good. I've been thinking of doing that to the stock clip on mine. Now that I've seen yours, I'm gonna go ahead and do it. I don't mind the small clip, but I think the black color is wrong, it just doesn't match. I'm also not crazy about deep cary, but It's not a deal breaker.

Just goes to show how different everyone's taste is. I had the exact opposite experience, hated how the stock clip carried. Deep carry clip + long knife made it unnecessarily hard to get out my pocket, and I kept having to adjust the position to avoid being uncomfortable. If the ONLY problem was the stock clip was a little small looking, I probably wouldn't have worried too much about it, but the deep carry aspect had to go!

I see deep carry clips are quite popular on this forum, though I've no idea why. Especially on a large knife, seems like the only purpose is to make the knife hard to get out of your pocket. I don't much care if people see I have a clipped folder, and my shirt probably covers most of it anyway.

Ok, I went ahead and did it.

Here's how it turned out. I think it looks a lot better than the black paint.

That's not the stock clip. It's the larger version found on the 801 for example. I went from stock clip to an 801 clip to the Emerson. The 801 clip was really nice as well, I was planning on polishing it too.

I know that's not the stock clip on his knife. I was saying that I want to strip the stock clip on my knife rather than getting a bigger clip, because I don't mind the small one.

I think the knife is light enough that the small clip carries without any issues. I just don't prefer deep carry clips, they are harder for me to get the knife out of my pocket.

Anyway, I went ahead and stripped it, I posted pics above.

Shoot my bad dude! Yeah, that's why I prefer normal carry clips too :D
